It was not bad, but obviously exam 1 was a lot easier. What did u guys get for the last question in the geometry and measurement section?

I can't believe i stuffed the last question up for matrices!!! Literally spent 30 mins on it and yet i still couldnt get it.
Do you think I'll be able to get consequential

What did you guys get for the value of k for the last question in graphs and relations I got 30 🤷🏾‍♂️

What did you guys get for core when it asked for the number of ays the maximum temp was less than the median of the min? I got 1

Also what'd you guys get for the finance question for the total interest (the reducing balance loan of 50000, fortnightly

I got 15 days.... As the outlier consists of the data point, and the below the median is 50% of the data...

I got 1 as well but for the interest it was actually 47000 something don’t remember exactly

I answered 1 due to the outlier. For the total interest, I answered around 45000 or something.

Soz bro, the total cost was $12000 for minimum time to reduce. You probably crashed K twice, which is what a lot of people did

Nah, for one, there was a cheaper alternative to crash two activities which was cheaper than the cost of crashing K again.
Total cost of $12000.
The crashing of the two activities G and H cost $3500 and reduced the critical path by 1, while crashing activity K cost $4000

Yup same here  :) Jeez I never even saw the 1 June and 11 June and just assumed it was a day apart  ::) Until 2 mins before the end of the exam that is. Putting 10 days n 6 hrs in hours just made me question so hard.

Same, was confused since matrix B differs each time, wondering why they didn’t use different letters to denote it :o

k can’t be 100 because it said how much more so I assumed that you do 100-70 to get 30 meaning k is 30 which you increase 70 by to get 100. Don’t take it from me though but I think that’s correct

I already lost 5 marks in exam 2, 1 mark in exam 1, and my sac average isnt that good. I think I'm have no chance of getting 40. Now I have to rely on Methods so so I can get a decent ATAR. I'm so frustrated right now, can't get myself to study for methods.

for part a of the final matrices question i wrote 'A' instead of 'AirWorld'. Do you think I will still get the mark?

Also, was one of the answers for financial around $92? Think it was the question about the balance of the loan when it first goes beneath the monthly payment.

I wrote both just in case, but I'm pretty sure they'll accept A

oh lol, because they asked for 60 members i thought we needed to add (4x5x70) + (4x10x100) --> $1540

and i did the same process for minimum, because they mentioned the number of people so... idk :-\

for the residual question in core, did anyone also say that the assumption was that the relationship was non-linear, but it was wrong because the association is actually linear? (the r value ~0.966 is v high which means that it's linear - i didn't include this in the answer by the way but for reference)

Definitely can still get a 40 with that! As long as your sac marks aren't below about 92% after scaling, all of your GA's will be A+ which will get you an A+. Can likely still get a 40 with SAC scores slightly lower than that because your exam 1 score is a high A+.

i lost 5 marks in exam 1, and got full marks in exam 2, does that mean i can get above a 40?
Yep. Your exam 1 score is just below an A+ but your exam 2 score will compensate for that.

Question 1 asked what the assumption was, which was linear

However, judging by the residual plot, it clearly was not linear because you could see a distinct pattern, which is parabolic.
Question 2 stated that it did not support the assumption that it was linear because there was a clear pattern, hence, it was non-linear.

but the r value was very high and it was the same set of data so wouldn't it have to be a linear association? (i also thought that the residual plot didn't have a distinct pattern sigh)

With residuals, you want to find the predicted y value and actual y value. They gave us the x-value, so we could work out the predicted y-value. However, we needed to look at the scatterplot to find the ACTUAL value

nope. I got approx 2.6 so therefore rounded to whole = 3.

I'm not amazing at further, but I don't think r values have anything to do with residuals (or at least not much to do with it).
We were looking at the distribution of the dots on the graph, and we can see that the dots followed a parabolic shape.
Just a note that if there is a clear pattern of some sort, then the association will be non-linear , vise versa for no clear pattern.

From the get go, once you saw the residual graph, you would see that it is non-linear (because there was a pattern). The second question asked that it did not support the assumption of question 1 (which, I'm pretty sure any questions that ask 'what is the assumption?' will always be that it is linear), so you would know that it wouldn't be linear because it stated that it didn't support the assumption.

nope. I got approx 2.6 so therefore rounded to whole = 3.
I got 105-102 = 3 for the residual

Yes, you had to use the equation to find the predicted value, and then for actual value you had to use the graph given (so the value of the actual value found on the graph was 105)

A lot of people got that but it was wrong. The answer is meant to be 1015-1012.4= 2.6 rounded to 3.
U misinterpreted the question, the value 1013 they gave u wasn’t the ACTUAL value, but instead a pressure point at 9am, which u then put in the regression line to calculate the predicted, and compare it with the actual value u find on the scatterplot, which was 1015

o ok

what i was referring to was how i thought the relationship between the two variables is linear because the r value measures the strength and direction of a linear relationship between two variables and it was very high (0.966) so i figured that the residual plot had to relay the same information - stumped agh

Isn’t it 60%?
0.1(600) +0.2(600)= 180
180/300*100= 60%

depends on your ranking/cohort
if you're rank 1 that'd probably be ~48 or possibly 49

What did you guys get for core when it asked for the number of ays the maximum temp was less than the median of the min? I got 1

Also what'd you guys get for the finance question for the total interest (the reducing balance loan of 50000, fortnightly
I got 1 too, also got somewhere in the 40000

What do we think the A+ cutoff will be for both Exam 1 and Exam 2?
I personally think they'll be lower than last years as the questions asked were quite different. Different in that previous years' questions were worded more simpler and were essentially much easier

for the residual question in core, did anyone also say that the assumption was that the relationship was non-linear, but it was wrong because the association is actually linear? (the r value ~0.966 is v high which means that it's linear - i didn't include this in the answer by the way but for reference)

I wrote that it had a pattern, thus it was non-linear. I think that there was a parabolic pattern.

Hopefully. My only hope of gettinh 40 now is that the state in general didn't do as well as last year and that my cohort did well. But one can only hope in this circumstances

For Exam 1 the A+ cut off will most likely be 37/40 as it was a fairly easy exam.
For Exam 2 however the A+ cut off will probably be 56/60 as it was fairly 'different' from past years.

For those who got around 12000 for the crashing question in the Networks section, did you take into account how decreasing the duration of the activities on the critical path created other critical paths as well. Taking the other activities into account I got the completion time of 31 weeks with $10500 I think. Might be wrong and not absolutely certain I tested every possibility properly.

Also for the second last question, did you guys get 29 weeks for the overall minimum completion time with crashing?

As in, max of 71 barrels could fit into the shipping container.

it should be 48 barrels because they all have to stand upright, I think 71 barrels is if you divide volume of container straight by the volume of barrel. the answer to my memory was you could place 8 in length, 3 in width and 2 in height. You can work this out by seeing how many of the barrel diameter can fit into the box in length, width and height. The answer should be 8x3x2 which is 48

Got a couple of questions.

For the question regarding the residual plot suggesting why there is not an association, would this get full marks
'The residual plot showing a clear pattern rejects assumptions that there is an association between atmospheric pressure at 9am and atmospheric pressure at 3pm'. Was I meant to say linear association?

Also what study score am I looking at with the following grades:
GA1: 95%
GA2: 39/40
GA3: 56/60

Not sure what my rank is but pretty sure I am close to the top in a competitive cohort

Just wanted to know 'if' i was to perform better than Rank 1,2,3 in both exam 1 (37/40) and 2 (57/60) in a "fairly ok" not strong neither weak cohort and might be close to state average or just below, what will my study score be predicted to be. My SAC avg is 87% and currently Rank 4 while Rank 1 has a sac avg of 93%.
