I'm doing year 12 next year might uptake uni maths and I wanted to see other people's opinions on the subject and the workload gained.
So, is university maths really worth the time and effort?
If I don't do uni maths I have to do economics which is kind of boring given how my teacher reads word for word from the textbook in 1&2.

I didn't do uni maths in year 12 (I did MUEP chemistry) but I do know the course that students do both at melb and monash. I would say it is worth the time and effort - from what I know the time required to score well in these subjects will probably be less than what is required to get a 45 in a vce subject - obviously this is assuming you are already great at maths. Whilst it is possible to score well the content is not "easy" the course is basically an extension of Specialist Maths so some aspects can be difficult but you will be rewarded if you put the effort in.
You also need to remember that these subjects are only attributed as a 10% increment to your ATAR so you need to be somewhat confident with your vce subjects if you are only doing 5 as there is less room for error.
