I did not do Geo 1/2 last year, and I did Geo 3/4 this year.
I think it is not a hard subject, as long as you put in enough effort, I do not think 1/2 knowledge is required for the 3/4 course, even though it may be helpful, but it is not necessary.
You can pick up Geo easily without 1/2 knowledge, you only need to read 3/4 textbook and that will be enough.

Hey there! I did Geo 3/4 in Year 11 this year without doing Units 1/2.
I got a raw 50 study score - so it is definitely possible to do well without studying units 1/2.
The only things I reckon you need to know are PQE, SHEEPT and how to describe spatial distributions.
Everything else I managed to learn in 3/4 this year.
