Hi,
Just wondering whether we need to know front and end focus in depth and what strategies are involved in these focuses?

Thanks :)

You need to have an basic understanding of the concept and be able to know how to identify and explain its function in texts. You don't really need to be extremely complex in your explanations of it in texts - just show that you can identify it and explain how it add's emphasis to a particular point and then relate that point back to the social purpose or function of the text.

It is a bit difficult to determine whether end focus or front focus is being employed within a sentence, and even my teachers said that they struggle with it as well.
