Title: How does tertiary study / TAFE compare to high school?
Post by: lm21074 on July 22, 2020, 07:44:18 pm
Hey everyone :)

For example:
- How does *insert subject here* at uni differ from the high school version?
- What skills from high school do you apply to working in a job?

Broadly speaking the content you go through at uni is harder/more complex and covered a lot more quickly. Learning is a lot more self-directed and you don't have anyone reminding you that things are due or that you should study -insert topic here-. It can be really tough adjusting to uni coming straight out of high school - it's quite a large change.

Depends what job you're working in as to relevant skills, but I guess things like doing group work, being able to follow instructions, being an independent learner, etc. are just a few potential skills that are transferrable.
