Hey, so a little background about my subjects: Maths Extension 1 and 2, Physics, Information Processes and Technology, and English advanced. I'm ranked top 5-10 for every single one of my subjects EXCEPT English where my internal rank has dropped down a lot and I'm part of the bottom cohort now. I've been reading many articles and posts about how internal ranks affect Atars and this has stressed me out even more as trials are approaching and I don't want English to drag my Atar goal of 85+ down. Is there still hope for achieving my desired atar? If I perform better in HSC will my English scaled mark improve? I've been working really hard on all my subjects and I really don't want English to drag me down. Any tips and thoughts would be appreciated.

Hey. I can't help you with the logistics of the rankings as I'm not too sure myself. What I can do though, is give you some advice. In my opinion, try not to worry about how your ranking will affect your ATAR because there's nothing you can do to change it. Reading articles and posts seems to be stressing you out, and it will only provide you with knowledge that you can't use to change your rank anyway. Try to forget about it; accept that you can't change it and focus on what you can change. You still have the trial exams to climb your way back up. Work hard towards that!
