Why does your teacher want you to have last years notes?

because shes dumb lol
well umm shes like its just for revision notes
shes like you need to know methods 1 and 2 well before u move to 3 and 4
last year my marks varied alot from 40% to 86% lol and in between constantly changing.
so would anyone have any notes lying around?
also if i didnt do so good in yr 11 methods could i still do well with yr 12 methods i.e studying my butt off lol.
is units 3 and 4 much harder than 1 and 2?

yeah probability is much easier in 3/4 than 1/2

I cannot say which one is harder. It depends on your personal tastes. I know a lot of people find year 11 probability hard, but if you find calculus quite challenging or if your year 11 course lacked a lot of worded extended response problems, then you will find year 12 harder.

yeah probability is much easier in 3/4 than 1/2
QFT.

but then again, i hate all probability...

no way man
in 3/4 u actually have to calculate wierd probability that may or may not involve combinations (determining this is the hard part for me)

in 1/2 all i did was some venn diagram and add up fractions :P

agreed. Year 12 prob is sooo diff to Year 11 prob. Year 11 is: how many ways can three people sit in a row (venn diagrams are cool too!)....then Year 12 prob...the probability that it will rain on thursday follows a normal distribution of mean x and standard deviation of y and blargh....

I would much prefer to do continuous probability distributions then all that venn diagram crap. So much easier to do :)
(Especially the Normal Distribution, which is essentially all just logical reasoning and calculator work)

The probability of Mao's argument being wrong is normally distributed with a mean of HA and a stdev of HA

:( :( :'(  DCC NOT EVERYONE'S A MATHS GEEK LIKE U OK?[/bitching] LOL

with that said, I did enjoy yr12 probability more than yr11 probability

+1

meh. i really don't remember anything from high school regarding probability anyway. rather conveniently forgotten it all. it was lovely to discover at uni that i didn't need any of it.
