Also remember for a homogenous linear differential equation $a_n \frac{d^nx}{dt^n} + \cdots + a_1 \frac{dx}{dt} + a_0 x = 0$ , the general solution will have the form $x = \sum_{k=1}^{n} c_k e^{\lambda_k t}$ where $\lambda_k$ is a solution of $a_n \lambda^n + \cdots + a_2 \lambda^2 + a_1 \lambda + a_0 = 0$

Maybe you should know that for non-homogenous linear ODEs

$\frac{d^nx}{dt^n} + \cdots + a_1 \frac{dx}{dt} + a_0 x = r(x)$

The particular solution is $x_t(t) = \sum_{i = 1}^{n} \int \frac{W_i(t)}{W(t)}\; dx \cdot x_i (t)$
(cbf explaining how to do that, tbh I don't exactly remember right now :P)
