I want to bring my bible in instead of my note book.

Hey,
I believe you can bring any bound reference etc into VCAA exams as long as they are bound into one whole piece.
Gl with spesh exams!

Oh really? Thanks man!

An alternative is to bring your notebook with your spesh notes and then print scriptures and paste it in the notebook- to get the best of both

Getting a raw 58 is impossible. Please be more sensible. :)

A gentle reminder that VCE exams are a stressful enough period as it is without trolling/flaming. In future, try not to engage in trollish behaviour. :)

please get a sense of humour :) while this is a stressful time for everyone, a little humour is always appreciated and acts as a coping mechanism for a lot of people. I don't see it as trolling :)

That's cool - but the way I read the post, to me it sounded like failingenglish was openly mocking the idea of bringing in a Bible. Who knows who's right, whether it's you, me, insanipi, or someone else - but nothing wrong with stepping back and thinking about it from someone else's perspective, and then erring on the side of caution. These kinds of jokes are probably fine in your group of friends on a private Facebook chat (hell, I've made worse jokes in my life to my friends), but what if that joke causes someone to become way more stressed because they have a different sense of humour? Idk, might seem dumb, but personally, I'd rather not risk it
Anyway, just an outsider's perspective. I'm not part of the mod team, just a volunteer wanting everyone to be their best selves.

Ok I understand your point and I’m willing to look at it objectively. From what I gather, the whole thread is a joke and failingEnglish was just adding to it. Correct me if I’m wrong but the original comment wasn’t being serious and I assume that they were making a joke about how difficult the spec exam will be to a point where only a bible will help. I found failingEnglish’s comment to be a harmless joke that contributed to the thread. Again this could be perceived differently but that’s how I saw it. I also understand your point about making these jokes in private but I also think that this should be a platform to relax and relate to others and personally didn’t find the joke offensive given the context and the intention behind it. (Again just my opinion) Insanipi’s response didn’t relate to the potentially offensive nature of the comment, as she was simply responding to the clearly Obvious joke about the raw 58 study score so I don’t really see the correlation between the joke being mocking. Thanks for your input but I still don’t see any issues

Hahah all good :)

The entire thread is a joke. It doesn't matter if you bring in a bible or Pope's stick, it won't save you. And frankly, you don't deserve it either. The only thing that can save you is your mathematical knowledge and your hard work.

yeah bro i brought mine in last year and i had all the answers to life

IKR! Something written literally two milleniums ago would be great use for you in a maths exam!

I completely understand that this thread is a joke, but it starts... getting a little offensive-feeling. Besides, there are many ways I really can see that bringing in a Bible could be of use to you in a maths exam. (Such as if you'd learnt everything to correlate with a verse, or something, and it reminded you of it.)

Hey thread,
Let's be mindful of boundaries here when joking on particular topics. The original joke is fine - however, continuing with it and insinuating that a religious text is a mockery isn't okay. This is an accepting community and users should ensure consideration towards those from all walks of life.

Our moderators are volunteers doing their best to keep the AN community free of bias. Believe me, we know that humor is a fantastic coping mechanism - but taking a joke too far never is.

I'm not sure if this is meant to be a joke or not. But if you're being serious and this is actually how you learn maths then I'm impressed.
I'm sure bringing in that book will help your mindset and all but "correlating with a verse" 😂😂😂

Yeah okay this is done. Some of these comments are entirely inappropriate for AN. Locking this thread because I dont see anything productive coming from it.
