Title: Exam Tips
Post by: Maroon and Gold Never Fold on February 21, 2021, 10:31:54 pm
I have an exam in a couple week covering integration and Exponential and logarithmic functions, it is 50 marks and 50 minutes working time. I've been doing passed papers under timed conditions but does anyone have any tips for this test as we are pressed on time.

Hey :D

If you get reading time, use it effectively - it's a very underrated resource and often misused because of that. Otherwise, stay calm and don't worry too much as this will lead to making mistakes that retrospectively seem really awful. Prioritise ensuring easy marks are taken at the start of the exam instead of rushing through to take marks that may not necessarily be there at the end.

Otherwise, just back yourself! It's evident you've done the hard work and that will show if you trust your own ability! Good luck :)

Thanks for the help, however I do get really nervous for them. One last question, how should i utilise my 5 minutes reading time?

Either skim through the paper from front to back or back to front to work out what you need to do for each question. Understand what topics, techniques, and formulas could be involved in solving the question. ie. if you see an certain type of integral, find out what basic form it could map to on the formula sheet.
Any remaining time - either try to calm down a bit or check out the multiple choice, if it's there. Nail down some of the earlier questions so you don't miss out on easy marks :)
