Title: High B+ on midyear, and HYPOTEHTICAL A+ on end of year... translates to what?
Post by: krzysiek on November 09, 2009, 07:51:34 pm
Hey guys,

As title says. High B+ in the mid-year. Would have just dropped off an A.

What If i got an A+ in the end of year exam (mid to high) what could my raw study score be? Im crossing my fingers for 40 scaled!

Depends, if this exam is the same as the unit 3 exam, you would be looking at a 36-38, considering you have a good sac ranking. If its uber hard, then you could be looking at 39-40.

And Julian, I would say between 33-34, if its easy and 34-35, if its hard.

What do you think the raw and scaled ss would be for:
Mid year: C
SAC's: A+
End year: B+

easy exam 2, 29-31

hard exam 2,  30-32

it makes no difference how hard the exam is; graded assesments (ie, A+, A etc) are based upon how well the state did. The VCAA makes it so that the proportion of people who get an A+ remains aproximately the same. So if the exam is super easy the A+ mark will be 88/90, where as if it is hard it may be down to 80/90, but still about 10% of the state will get an A+.

wat about this one:

physics

SACs: High A+
Exam 1: A (silly mistakes, missed an A+ by 3.5 marks)
Exam 2: high A+

thanks

I'm shitting myself here, cos if I don't get 25 in physics there goes my chances in getting into Science at Melbourne, even with a 90 for an ENTER.

Admitedly, I abandoned Physics since my Exam 1 mark, and seeing as I had Spesh and Methods to worry about.

So, I got a B on the Midyear, a B-B+ for SACs and I'll be lucky to get a C - C+ tomorrow. Can anyone predict me a SS?

No matter what, if you can get a C tomorrow, you will get above 25.

ohhh maybe I guess. Just aim for a C, even if you dont know how to do a question just write the formula down or anything. It could still get some marks. Its the little thins that count.
