Hi everyone,
Please be advised that voting has closed and the five selected English texts that I will be studying this year have been finalised.
According to preferences submitted by FSN members over the past six weeks, the five most popular texts are as follows:
NOVELS
Orwell, George, Nineteen Eighty-Four (List 1, Area of Study One)
Salinger, J D, The Catcher in the Rye (List 2, Area of Study Two, Context: Exploring issues of identity and belonging)
FILM TEXTS
Look Both Ways, Directed by Sarah Watt (List 1, Area of Study One)
Witness, Directed by Peter Weir (List 2, Area of Study Two, Context: Exploring issues of identity and belonging)
PLAYS
Bolt, Robert, A Man for All Seasons
As stated previously, I intend to study these texts so I can not only offer support in a general sense, but offer specialised advice and guidance on the most popular texts.
I intend to study each of these texts over the next month, depending on the degree to which my personal commitments restrict me. I expect to have finished studying these texts by early March and will be available to answer questions and offer assistance when this period has elapsed.
I will provide regular updates.
Happy studying,
Nick. :)

I can't wait to read it. I've already ordered it. It takes 12-14 days though which is an absolute pain.

That's probably not a great idea given the fact that when I study a novel, I maul it with highlights and scribble.

Only one of my texts (Witness)...

How will you study for the films then lol?
-
Hahaha good point. I just mentally scribble all over the television screen and hope that it all absorbs into my mind. Hahaha not really..I'll just scribble some notes as I watch.

It's still okay. Neither of those texts are new to the English text list, many people around have studied one or both of them.

I actually have a friend in Melbourne who studied "In the Lake of the Woods" last year. She got a pretty impressive study score and I can forward her email address on to you if you would like? PM me if you would like it.
