Really useful IMO
http://www.vrqa.vic.gov.au/sreg/
Glad it went up, I remember when I was changing schools we had SO MUCH TROUBLE deciding where to go, each school kept promising the same things, and we heard many rumors of bad reputations for "x" school and good things about "y"
Now we have solid evidence :D
EDIT: Turns out be about PRIMARY SCHOOLS, ><
It's BOTH secondary AND primary
-
Ha Wellington still rocks!
-
I looked at Melbourne High....they are like ABOVE AVERAGE/HIGH for every criteria ><
LOL.
-
Heh, that's the only one I looked at too. There was a page where they had 100th percentile for every criteria ahah.
-
My school is just touching or underneath the box (only slightly so it's not like o sup 10% student learning or anything) for pretty much all the criteria apart from socio-economic. Hurrah.
-
Mac.Rob did OK, but our satisfaction levels aren't that great...
-
Only the primary campus of my school was placed on this website...(I knew there was something wrong with the secondary campus!!!)

lol! First school I looked at. Median ENTER 94.something, they were disappointed with median ss being 37 (opposed to 38), 37% get over 40 and only 88% getting above 80 (opposed to 91%).
Our median ss was 31 and 7% got over 40 (thanks to heraldsun, also could have been 8% if I didn't f-up my methods exam 1 and physics exam 2) median ENTER not entered, oh but our school did well with sport, lol.
Next school: Mac Rob (crazy school - 42% get over 40, what is the median ENTER?).

Sorry, but what boxes are you talking about? I can only find the annual report for my school.
EDIT: Don't worry, I found out.
-
I can't find my school ;d
nvm
How do you find the average enter and study scores?

I think only some schools will include it.

After looking at a few schools, I found out that you can only see the "Annual Reports" that each school publishes. From that, schools have the freedom to publish what they want on them. Therefore, if they don't see fit to include the median ENTER, then they don't have to. However, I've noticed that many schools publish their median study score and what % of study scores were over 40. Maybe it's because that these two pieces of information are freely available to the public every year through the newspaper.

WOW, Bendigo S.C has 1100 students or so doin a 3/4 !!!!! When the majority of school have 150-250.
Thats probably because its in an isolated area and probably the only high school. But yeah! Pfwo, wonder if they have a tonne of VCE options in regards to subjects.

I've heard reports from Mac Rob kids that it's a fairly stressful school to go to because of all the pressure to be smart and well-rounded and the fact that everyone in the cohort is so brilliant and you're supposed to compete with them. Is that true?
My old school actually did surprisingly well. It was average for everything except for things like students finding employment or being enrolled in further study.

In addition my friend went there, cant remeber, she mgihta been year 10, and they forced her to do a Unit 1/2 of a SPECIFIC subject, think she was forced do to 2 subejcts like geogrpahy and "y" which she wouldnt have chosen.
I was absolutely shocked, sicne it is YOUR VCE, and whether your paying bif, or going to a public school u should NEVER be forced into doing it.
She might have lied, or i mis understood, but yeah, this might have played a part too.
-
In some sense you're "forced" to fit into the restrictions of things like class capacities, etc. And if you just don't like any other subject, you might feel like you're forced into one of them.
