^ in what context?

They're two completely different courses =S

Environments= landscaping, architecture, urban designer, graphing, surveyor.

Bach Science= science related.

What do you want to be? I am assuming this is for Melb Uni.

You can do law via any of the new generation degrees.  You just need to pick the law-related breadths.

I thought Arts was the "best" for post-grad law at UoM.

Do arts if you want to do law!

If you get a 99 then go for law at Monash. You would be stupid not to. (Correct me if I'm wrong) The JD is the most competitive graduate course to get into.

I'm not sure if it helps, but these are the subjects you will need for JD. And with regards to which undergrad degree, Science has the most majors to choose from.

science is definately more interesting or as humph said "engineering is maths and physics with the fun taken out". I think that its mainly commerce and arts students who are going for the JD, science and biomed students are focussed on the health area.

That's what I heard from a couple of UoM students as well.  Arts and commerce students are the "main" students who have the intention of doing post-grad law.

I recommend commerce, it just suits law so well from many people that I have talked to (including those that are in the workforce now).

1) You don't need to do any particular subjects in an undergraduate degree to qualify for the JD
2) In order to determine whether a BSc or BEnv would be best for you, you need to provide people with what *you* find interesting.

- If you want to do JD, I recommend Arts, or Commerce, as they are more languagey/humanities-y courses compared to say, science/music/biomedicine. This will prepare you better for a law degree. I don't know what environments entails so can't help you there.

- I have seen several law firms advertising for students to do internships, who only wants commerce/law, accounting/law, business/law (etc.) students. So if you want to get into corporate law, a commerce degree would be best.

- If you get a high enough ENTER to get into law/xx at Monash (which I think now is ~98), TAKE THIS OPTION UNLESS THERE IS A REALLY GOOD REASON NOT TO GO TO MONASH. Like someone above said, you'd be pretty stupid to (unless you're happy with the possibility of ending up with just an undergraduate degree if you don't get into JD). And it's not just UoM - JD at Monash is pretty damn competitive too.

Yeah the JD seems to becoming the standard name for all graduate-entry Law courses in Australia, supplanting the old graduate-entry LLB programmes.
