Recently on BoS someone asked a question and I posted a link to a great resource here on VCE Notes. Along comes a 'Super Moderator' who deletes my post and gives me a warning. Something is seriously stuffed up when a collaborative learning forum deletes any form of collaboration between them and a fellow educational website. I was just helping a fellow VCE'er.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH BOS?

Apparently there's some conflict between VCENotes and BoS in general.

True, though I doubt that the mods here would delete a post which linked to BoS if it had some educational value.

I'm permabanned from BoS for recommending VN

BoS and VN have a bad history together. PM people instead, that's what I do.

To be fair, I've never seen a direct link to BoS around here before. :p

That is poor form. Just shows that BoS is more about advertising/profit than what it's actually meant for, helping students through HSC/VCE. Wouldn't worry about it though, VN is a way better resource anyway. :)

I don't actually know what stance I'm meant to be taking on this given that I've never encountered a BoS thread with any educational value. Doesn't trouble me though because I doubt it'll happen any time soon.

Eh, I made an account over there for a single note I wanted...The forums seem really sucky. The overall maturity of the members and quality of information seems quite horrid...imo it looks like a turd compared to VCEnotes.

To confirm what Zach was saying about maturity, just browse through their "Love & Relationships" forum. You're bound to find "interesting" things to read. :P

That's what is was originally created for - HSC students. But then they thought that making a separate forum for VCE students would suffice...

I had the exact same thing,the thing I like about BoS is there are many more people, Sure here there is a much more high achiving crowd but there isn't enough people. After seeing the attitude towards VN, I'm starting to not like BoS.
I love the availablility of user submitted notes here, they are awesome.

I had the exact same thing,the thing I like about BoS is there are many more people, Sure here there is a much more high achiving crowd but there isn't enough people. After seeing the attitude towards VN, I'm starting to not like BoS.
In the VCE forum?? It's lucky to get 10 posts a day...

True. But I think they mean the forum in general. Still, numbers don't mean anything if they don't have the brains/maturity to match it.

In a way, i just find more people, for example, I have been contacted by 2 people that are going to NMSS but here i don't think anyone would be contacting me (then again I haven't tried).
I am not saying BoS is better, after being here there is less BS here (hey BoS is one letter from BS)

BoS is not so great, i used to go on there until i discovered VCEnotes, and i can tell you it's much better here.
Some of the users on there are only there to talk about their social lives, it's ridiculous really. Then you have the users who post in the non-school area, arguments and fights are always waging between different ethnicities, and there are a lot of racist users.
Also, i have found that the higher achieving students tend to come here.

one of the most hated things is when a HSC student comes into the vce sections and asks something like what the system is or maybe what methods means.

I realise what you mean now, though it doesn't affect us Victorians. At one point today they had 1,773 users online :buck2: That's just huge...

The early members on VN are all BoS converts... I remember how painful it was on BoS trying to get pages to load.
