As you can see, my methods SS (33 raw) left a lot to be desired!

31 in eco...after winning a commerce award previoulsy
-
I got 35 raw in IT apps, did jack all this whole year, played halo and CS with friends in every lesson and managed to pull an A in my exam haha
and it got scaled down to 30, shit
-
21 in methods .. wooohoo! Hahaha.
-
Crap is subjective here. Don't get annoyed.
I think I did CRAP in English - 43. This is because a) I spent a lot of time on it and b) it pulled down my ENTER.
-
Quite a range of 'crap', 14-43 haha
-
lol. you got 99.75. is there any course you can't get into?
-
Apart from a few courses, I think it is mainly scholarships that are out of reach.
-
I'm disappointed with literature. I got 100% for all of my SACs in an average cohort. Guess we all blew the exam though and this got moderated down to an A, giving me 36 overall.
Oh well XD
-
BM = A+, A+, C= SS 35. So disappointed studied so hard throughtout the whole year and didn't even come close to getting 40+. I must have really bad karma
-
im kicking myself inside out because of unit 3 == . would have gotten me my 40
-
lol i'm a bit disappointed at my methods score. But I made a lot of mistakes throughout Methods this year, and since I know I won't make the same mistakes next year, I'm sure next year will be better.

If you're disappointed then what am I :buck2: ? That's my logic, learn as much as I can from my 'failure' this year, so I can own next year. :P

-
I did crap in English Language
GA1: A+
GA2: A+
GA3: B+ (wtf)
SS: 40
The thing is, I felt really confident after my EL exam, and my practice exam was borderline A+... I think it really dragged down my ENTER.
-
Legal: 40
I was very very very close to crying :'(
-
I was very very very close to crying :'(
out of happiness or sorrow?
-
sorrow and frustration :(
...because it was "crap"

Exact same situation I had ]:
-
Ahh shinny I sympathise :(
-
specialist mathsssss - (wtf is GTA 2 cause i only got B+ )
-
I got an A+ for my coursework in Methods and then a C+ and C in the exams got me a 31. Although I was actually very happy with this since I was expecting a 25 and thought a 30 would put Methods in my top 4 due to scaling - instead, I did awesome in Lit and that snuck in there.
-
only if i had that A+ for sacs.
-
GA1: A+ GA2: A+ GA3: B+ SS:37 in Lit. I tried so hard. :(
-
LOL. i'll start.
physics
i got a D+, B+, D. 24 Raw :D :D
Same deal for me, only with Chemistry. 25 raw, 28.something with. :)
-
3 A+'s in English and only a 40. I thought that was crap, was hoping for mid 40's. Oh well.
-
ESL...lol...
-
Last year I was really annoyed with Legal Studies. A+, A+, A+ and a 39. Funnily enough it has been one of the few subjects where I actually felt really damn good after the exam and thought I could have got 45+. I guess VCE has taught me that you just can't predict SS after an exam. From personal experience, a feeling of doing really well in an exam can result in a SS of 39-50.
This year I suppose methods was my only disappointment (SS=37). I wasn't expecting to get very high but I still think I could have done better (Most of my mistakes being stupid errors such as failing to add or misreading questions). I think if I had controlled exam nerves a bit better, especially during exam 1, I may have been able to hit the 40 mark.

Lol I felt crap after doing the Methods exam, and there were at least 5 ppl who after talking to them, I felt did much better than me. But then again, crap for Methods to me is not getting 100%.
Also I predicted 47-49, and my predictions proved accurate, so my experience doesn't agree with your sentiment of "you just can't predict SS after an exam." :(
-
As you can see from my signature I did crap in bio.
I maintain my sanity in acknowledging the knowledge that I have accumulated from it and knowing it's still possible for me to get a 99+ ATAR. That's what I like about VCE, you can still do well even if you muck up one or two subjects! :)
-
So true boysenberry, clean slate next year!
-
Can uni students use this thread to discuss subjects they did crap in?
I did crap in linear algebra (like epic fail). I was aiming for an 80% average in it and I got 65%. This is after constant work, 97% average in assignments, 70% average in computer tests (mind you this is more on how you use MATLAB, than what you get examined on) and totally freaking out in the exam, one reason being examined on something our professor touched up on the one lecture before the last.
It is the one subject that really depressed me in terms of results.

Don't I know it! So glad that I did all right despite my methods phayle.

i thought i got at least 66/80 on my spesh exam 2 and 31/40 on spesh exam 1 according to the answers but only got:
B+ B B = 32 :(
same with methods last year i thought i got 70+ on exam 2 and 36+ on exam 1
-
Not necessarily, I got want I wanted...
-
I didn't do as well I would've liked in any of my subjects, but apart from the two maths' the most annoying one was not hitting 40 in physics. While I know I didn't do crap, physics was the one subject I'm really disappointed in and while I know I didn't do much work, 40 would've made a big difference to my general feeling towards my vce.
-
'Crap' is a very subjective definition. A person might be disappointed with a 45 in their subject, as they expected 48 + whilst someone else might be over the moon with that mark.
That said, I was very disappointed with both English and Chemistry. Chem because I had the potential to get higher, had I not screwed up MC with stupid mistakes. English - because it's in the top 4.
-
still talking about it? =\
-
still talking about it? =\

To quote a certain member:
Guys - now is the time to decide what study scores you guys wanna strive to.
I know you guys know that ;) butttt.. decision time now on home much work you are gonna do :).
We can all get 50's right now (I believe :P), perfect time to decide.
Work hard and you can reach any score. :D

I probably JUST scraped past a B+ for the final exam or something. Woo
-
yeah, 41 in Physics
Despicable, considering how the exams were a joke

Lol ilovemathsmeth, you got into the course you wanted right? Yeah a scholarship would've been a nice reward for your work, but aside from that, no-one is going to judge you on the fact that you got a 99.75 instead of a 99.95 or because you got a 44 in chemistry (particularly if you are looking at commerce-actuarial). Move on and look at the challenges in the future...

My calculator for methods wouldn't turn on in exam 2, even with new batteries. I ended up getting a working calculator with about 1/3 time left in the exam. As a result of this I left out large sections of the exam. The examiner's for some unknown reason conspired against me and both said that I had a working calculator within 10 minutes, despite the student sitting behind me confirming my story. We assume this is to cover themselves as they may not have followed protocol in some way. I applied for a derived score and I didn't get one based on 'a lack of evidence'. I ended up getting A+ for GA 1 and 2 and a B+ for the exam without a calculator giving me 37 which I was extremely happy with considering the situation. But ultimately I didn't feel the score was a fair representation of my hard work. It sucks that I didn't get any special consideration... ohh well :D.
-
IT Applications
A+, A, A = 38
scales to like 33-34
I studied so hard for it as well......... :'(
-
has anyone here ever got a 50 in physics? :O
and if i dont like comprehension should i still do bio nxt year?

but yeah
mainly mid year scores all dissapointed with
-
@ Mulan, I'm actually not good at maths. Last year, I did 7 competitions - 6 HDs, 1 D. What was the distinction? AMC. So no, I'm not a maths gun, but you can definitely do well in physics with a weakness in maths.
-
6 HDs!!!??
a distinction is STILL GOOD. i got that last year i think...
and i reckon im still awesome at maths (sorta) :)

well i still havent got the SS for it but i got a A in my bio midyear :( i was meant to get a 45+ SS. now awaiting my statement of marks to see how far off the A+ i was.
a high A+ in exam 2 will most likely get me around 40 now
