Title: Anyone Doing PE?
Post by: J.Z-M on February 06, 2008, 01:20:59 pm
 ;D

If anyone needs advice with this subject/help feel free to PM me.
For some silly reason this is one subject i am really good at(unlike many other subjects lol)
Btw, what book(s) is your school using?
(I thought Health and Physical education Book 2 by Damien Davis) was pretty good.

Aiming pretty high.
Any advice?

Late reply, but I am doing PE this year. Loving it at the moment. Getting my act together after putting little effort in at the start of the year and results are paying off :) Im aiming for around 40 give or take. And using the Nelson book also.

Yeah I'm also using the Nelson texbook.
Visit: www.brianmac.co.uk
It's a got a few summarys and things like that my teacher recommended browsing through before we had our energy systems SAC.
Starting unit 4 this week.  :)

PE's my fav subject. Been doing pretty well in the sacs - all A+'s cept for 1 A (energy systems)

O.P. do you have any P.E. specific study tips + advice for exams?

I'm doing p.e. as well. It's fun, but I never do homework for it lol.
Got 81/100 in sacs for the semester which, in my opinion, is pretty mad for not doing any homework the whole year lol.

I love P.E.

My best and favourite subject by far.

Only concern is that my teacher doesn't know what he is doing. Have got 98/100 in SACs so far. Loving it.

if you're struggling to remember it all, best thing to do is make your own notes. i've done all my unit 3 ones over this holidays, and starting to go over old exam questions, finding it really helpful :)

Are all schools using Nelson PE text books? I am using Live it Up 2, and it isn't great. Doing Checkpoints and past exam questions as I go though, and have purchased Nelson....hope all the work pays off

We concurrently use Nelson and Live it Up 2 (Nelson being the predominate text bookand Live It up borrowed for the whole school year from the school library) . I find LIU to be all over the place and less organised than Nelson, but having said that, some of the information is better explained/more in depth in LIU.

Not a huge fan of Nelson... but its prob one of the better texts used.
Checkpoints are so useful!
And the leading edge notes help as well!

i dont reckon.
theres alot that test the stuff from the next chapter, or like, i dunno some really obscure or misleading or... i cant think of the word... ambiguous, thats it!
i much prefer checkpoints + nelson workbook

but the questions are much more harder than the checkpoints in nelson :(
i guess it is up to the individual :)

do you mean... checkpoints as in the separate book?

not the ones in the nelson book, they aren't great!
