I just received my SoM today and was shocked to find how high the A+ cutoff was for non-CAS exam 2(69/80) :o This is absurdly high compared to other years, did you guys find the exam that easy? I thought it was quite simple but was caught out on many (8) stupid things, I lost more than one mark only on '3cii' (that probability question).
Did you all think it was easy enough to warrant such a high cutoff?

0.o 69/80 seems to low to me because I'm accustomed to 90% being the A+ cut-off.
But I remember finding this year's Exam 2 harder than all the other VCAA Exam 2's - that question where you had to flip the fraction, then antidifferentiate, and finally change the subject of the equation was Specialist material.
And lol I lost all my marks for putting "6-x" rather than "14-x"

I liked that last question the most :P
It's not actually a hugely higher cutoff last year A+ was 64.5/80, but I think that 109.5/120 deserves a little higher than 42 :(
I think I would've made those stupid little errors in any exam, but can face tough questions well, so the harder it is the better for me.
I was annoyed at how close I came to an A, only 1.5 marks above.
This has turned into a whinge post :buck2:

What was the cut off for exam 1?

What was the cut off for exam 1?
37/40

The Methods CAS A+ cutoff was 0.5 higher than the non CAS cutoffs.
Though I was expecting the cutoffs to actually be higher for both exams because on the whole they were rather easy

Exam 1 was easy but exam 2??

so were both exams the A+ cut off higher by 0.5 marks for cas?
