Title: Anyone Doing Renaissance This Year?
Post by: Rietie on February 13, 2008, 10:39:56 pm
Noticed there have been no new posts in Renaissance board. Just wondering if I'm the only one doing it this year. It would be pretty lonely if I'm the only one  :(

I would have loved to do classics if my school offered it :(

And I would have done a science - psychology, if they had offered it :(

Im probably doing Renaissance next year.... well that or accounting

Last year only 30 people state wide got 40+ in renaissance so thats a worry :o

In english around 80 people got a 50!

That's because about 30,000 people do English while around 1000 do Renaissance, or something like that. Less people mean less people getting high scores :)

hmm i dont know but considering those many people who do it at my school who say it is boring is more than a "pressumption". I think if you have any sense you'll know australia's history is not exactley riveting

I think it is very interesting actually!!!!
> European settlement
> Aboriginal treatment
> Federation
> Gold Rush
> The War's and the effects on Australia
> The depression

All very interesting aspects of our history and its a shame that you feel that way clinton09.

What subjects does your school run Rietie?

English, Literature, Economics, Business Management, Specialist Maths, Maths Methods, Further Maths, National Politics, Legal Studies, Texts and Traditions, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Renaissance, Revolutions, Health and Human Development, French, Indonesian, Japanese (which is being dropped for Chinese), Geography, Art, Studio Art, PE, Theatre Studies, Music Performance and IT (but no one does it).

You can do VET courses outside school (but only a few people do them) and some people also do uni subjects.

Heh. I couldn't remember half of them, so I went to my school website, then to the online booklist, and then typed all the subjects from there :)

Yeh, you'd be suprised at the small range of VCE subjects that some schools offer. The list may only be 10-15 subjects long for some schools
