Title: Distance Ed
Post by: Candy4Panda on March 03, 2010, 07:58:34 pm
Has anyone here had experience doing subjects by correspondence aka distance ed? Unfortunately I have to do health by correspondence this year because it clashed with Japanese and there were no other subjects I could do. >:( It says I have to send in work every Friday which I haven't been able to do on time last week because of year 12 camp and this week because I haven't got the goddamn text book yet. :tickedoff: My question is does lateness actually effect the study score in the end or as long as I do all the sacs and exam will I be alright?

You also need to pass the subject at school. If you don't hand your classwork in they can fail you, i.e. give you an N rather than an S. In this case you would not get a SS(I think...)

I'm not really sure how lenient they are.

They are usually a little bit lenient with the due dates especially at the start of the year and depending on how quickly your enrolment went through. You should contact your distance ed teacher to let them know about camp and the textbook and organise a date for when you will be sending the work in by.

It should only affect your scores if you are continuously late with work requirements or not submitting them at all.

There is a set amount of weeks you need to hand in, If I remember correctly. It also largely depends on your teacher, whether or not they are like to crack down. When I did IS last year the teacher was pretty lenient, I didn't hand in many weeks and he just said do what you want to and don't worry about what you don't hand in.

I'm doing Music Styles by Distance Ed. I haven't handed in the past two weeks of work, they haven't complained about it- said I could use the holidays to catch up. I might hand in this week's work if I get the time to start/finish it tomorrow. lol.
