Title: Field variable 'chi'?
Post by: QuantumJG on March 04, 2010, 07:59:05 pm: Ok in my lab we were doing a prac to experimentally determine $\dfrac{e}{m}$ and we came across this

$V = ( \dfrac{e}{m} ) \chi + \delta$

where $\chi = [ \dfrac{ ( Br ) ^{2} }{2} ] \times 10^{11}$

Anyway χ is a measure of kinetic energy loss from electrons due to collisions with Helium atoms but I don't know what unit of energy it relates to (if any)?
