Hey, I didn't do too good in VCE and just wondering if I perform well first year @ Deakin is it possible to transfer into second year at Melbourne?
(bachelor of commerce)

Yes, alternatively you could do a mid year transfer depending on what kind of averages they want at Melbourne (contact their commerce faculty). However going into second year all depends on how much credit you get for the subjects you did at Deakin. Again I'd say contact the faculty at Melbourne and ask

I did that exact transfer this year and i received 100 points of credit (an entire years worth), however if you will likely only use half of those points because many of the core units at deakin are unusable at Melbourne depending on your major. So at the moment im doing a mixture of 1st and 2nd year subjects and will have a lighter workload come year 3. Hope that helps.

But doesn't that mean it will take you more than 3 years to complete the B.Com at UoM?

It means i will have been at Deakin for 1 year and Melbourne 3.

Nicholas sounds good. Just one question though shouldn't the degree take you less than 3 years at Melbourne since they credited you with some subjects that you did first year at Deakin?
Also, how is it that you get accepted into Melbourne? Do you need to get a specific average at Deakin?
Thanks for the help guys.

I only received one terms worth of useful credit. So this year im doing 1st and 2nd year subjects, next year 2nd and 3rd, and then have a lighter workload in my 3rd year.
You need to do 8 units if your ENTER was nowhere near good enough, like myself, and you apply through VTAC . My average was around the 75 mark, but a friend of mine transferred with around 70 I think. 75 would put you on the safe side.
Hope you do it.

Thanks nicholas, greatly appreciate it. Looking forward to (hopefully) transferring.
