Question 14 of the multiple choice questions in the attachment.

Can someone help me out with this? How do you work it out?

it should be D since the yintercep is at 1  and the gradient is positive, it cant be B since the points given are not similar after substituting

Well first of all, you know the constant is +1 as that is where the y intercept passes

Now for the gradient, see how two of the boxes are darkened? That means they fit on the line perfectly. So we can therefore find the gradient using these points.

You can find the gradient two different ways
y2-y1
x2-x1

or

rise
run

The two points are (2,5) and (4,8)
8-5
4-2
=3
  2

After rounding, the closest answer there would be D
Sorry if I didnt make myself clear
