Currently i have had 2 SAC's for english
i have done terribly bad
first sac for oral i got an E - went over time by 4 minutes yeah pretty bad
second sac for issues analysis got a C
are my chances of getting a 30+ gone? and if they are not what do i need to maintain in my next sacs?
also if i did better in my english exam then my english sac scores will my sac results go up?
i'm queit worried that this could ruin my chances of getting a good ATAR/ENTER score :\

Depends how the rest of your school is going as a lot of it depends on your ranking.
If it was my school it would still be very possible to get a 30 as our average is a D+ or thereabouts. Just try to up your average in the next SACs and go well in your exam and you should be fine.
I suggest you get a tutor or try to start writing an essay a week to be marked by your teacher, its the only way you'll be able to improve.

dw man in doing crap as well..i got D+ and im scared cos i did eng lang last year but my school didnt have any spot so i transferred to normal english D:
-
Tutoring would be the best thing.. Seriously, if youre struggling this late = Good game. :tickedoff:

English Lang gets scaled but its boring because it looks at how language is used (History of English) and all that jazz.. So language analysis's etc.
Yeah, it sounds really strange, but could potentially be interesting. It isn't scaled by much, only +1 whereas english tends to be +0. If only I had enough space I would take both Englang and English! Oh well... I'll endeavour to decide by the end of the year. So far I'm 50-50.

lol i went 15minutes overtime and still got an A+ in my oral best mark so far in eng

Yeah, im the exact same.. I'm really not sure either... English (mainstream) usually gets scaled -1, +0.. I don't think it gets scaled up :P
But, WHO KNOWS, I'm going to be asking my teacher when we get back from holidays.. Maybe a recommendation :P

English language for me personally is pretty interesting when you learn the IPA in Unit 1(International phonetic alphabet).. But apart from that it's really boring and I suck at it :P (currently doing Unit 4 Lang. and I don't expect to get over 35 study score)
-
Why is that?
-
Generally a 30 in mainstream english scales to 28 and a 40 to 39.
While with english language 30 => 31 and 40 => 42 (from atar calc)

First off the textbook that was required (Living Lingo/ Heinemann Eng. Lang 3+4) is really plain and it puts me off from working hard :/. Also there are heaps of irrelevant information, case studies etc. that after learning you realise that it is not important for SACs or even exams. I think this is because English Language is a fairly new subject offered in VCE so they can't really give us all of what is needed in preparation for the exam.
Overall, I don't regret doing English Language because English is not really something I enjoy doing and EL does not require AS much in depth understanding and it is more memory based (learning metalanguage and its features and current examples is basically all you will need)
But as long as I do practice essays for the end of the year I think I can get a decent SS (it scaled up by 2 last year) :P
-
Ahaha, if I'm not wrong, my school got into the finals last year, did you meet/compete with us? ;)
Really? Nope we only made it to the second playoff - lost to ballarat (they ended up getting into the semifinals so they were pretty decent though).
