i found out that the school doesnt let us do further 3/4 in yr 11! i havnt done any general mathematics yet, but im pretty gd at dealing with silly mistakes and heard that further was straightforward. What should I do now?? The teacher doesnt really recommend it but i really really want to do it. does anyone know any night schools that will teach it and provide sacs (eg. go to Language school to do vce)...or any other alternative way??

You should just be assertive and pressure them. Further is easy as hell. General maths is the biggest waste of time.

i think the reason why they wont lemme do further is cause ill b the only yr 11 student since my school doesnt teach general maths in yr 10. couldnt they just put me in the yr 12 class then? .sighs. should i talk to the careers lady then? the maths teacher is scary as hell. in what ways can i pressure them?

just skip general maths. its a waste of time...a waste of a subject. in yr 11...or y not try something else instead of general maths and in year 12 just take on further without the basics? is i make sense to u...lol

if further is so easy2u save it for Y12 and do a harder subject in Y11 such as biology which requires a lot of rote learning which is not recommended during your stressful year of Y12....on a side note, further is easy yes, but the way your making it sound is like a prep could do it and it really does still require time and effort especially if you're looking for a study score over 45 where silly mistakes will destroy you

ahhkays. i could do that since im doing bio this yr. Doing it in semester 2, so ill see if i like it :) im also doing accounting too. which subject requires more rote learning out of those two and would be better suited for yr 11?

it really depends man..for eg if you're going for med you'd do bio...if you're heading for the commerce/financial area you should do accounting,, if you're better at maths than science then you should do accounting,, overall just do what will benefit you the most

further maths is piss easy, you could teach it to a year 9.
just practise and you can eradicate most stupid mistakes.
i mean you have a calculator, so you really shouldn't make any calculation errors...
