Title: How to figure out if you've failed a subject?!
Post by: vce2009 on June 08, 2010, 12:24:58 pm
I know, possibly a very stupid question, but I can't figure out what marks I need in my exams to pass a subject, because I don't get this university marking system lol.
I know I've definitely failed one of my cores (whoops), cos I got H2Bs on the 2 assessments which are worth 40% and a definite fail on the exam worth 60% (N).
I'm so lost! Any help would be appreciated :D

Lets assume worst case scenario - lowest H2B mark is 70% so if those assessments are worth 40%, then you got 28 out of the 40 marks for that assessment.

If the exam is worth 60%, to get a pass (50) in the subject, you would need around 37% in the actual exam  (unless there are hurdle requirements in the subject).

Hope this helps you a bit.

YES. And it seems so obvious, this is probably why I got 19 in Methods haha. Thank you so much :)
