Someone was asking for a poll, so here's one :)
-
You should put a null vote there, cause ppl that didn't do it will just choose one to see the results. (that's what I did last year)

Or you could just click view results?
I think I would've gotten around 80.

already establishing a curve :P

I'm going to take the chance here to apologize for my sour disposition tonight. Aftermath of the physics exam has really depressed me.
How badly am I screwed if I dropped 2 marks?

Yeah, probably more so than I think...

You're gonna get <20 SS...

You're destined to become a bricklayer.
-
Oh, you.
While that was amusing, it was a serious question, and I'd genuinely appreciate it if I could get an answer in that vein.
-
Honestly. Two marks is awesome; you can still get a 50 if you do well on your end of year also...

I'm doubtful, if the cut-off is anything like last year...
-
This exam was very much more difficult than last year. I am quite confident that it is possible, and indeed likely, that you can get 50 with dropping only two marks, assuming a perfect unit 4 paper.
-
Yeah, cutoff won't be anything like last year. Look at all these questions in the threads...

Akirus stop talking like losing 2 marks is the end of the world. It's infuriating for all normal people.
-
Reckon losing 6 marks and doing about the same end of year (or slightly better in terms of grade) can scrape a 40?

Even those aiming for 50 ?? :P

Yeah. Probably a bit higher, depending on the difficulty of the end of year exam.

This.

=/ I can understand how he feels, I felt the exact same for Methods last year

I'm not saying it to irritate you guys, sorry if that's the case. It's just that it's been my aim this entire year, and the prospect of losing my objective is very upsetting. I apologize if it's bothered you.

Maximum 16 marks dropped, including no consequential marks on hanging mass question, lost one on the arrow question (don't ask) and no consequential on the 4J question. So hopefully its about a 10 mark loss, and an A+ :)
-
maximum of 9 marks lost. But hoping consequentials/working out will give me a boost. Either way very pleased with my result as chem is the one i've put in all the effort for; and somehow i know im just not going to get the return :S
-
i dropped around 14 marks for physics, but with consequential i think i may have only 10 or 11 marks, could i still get a study score around 35. Btw averaging high A's to low A+'s at school
-
Dropped 4 marks in motion, elec+ photonics and materials 100%

Easily
You should get an A for this exam, A in your SACS, and if you pull an A+ in the next exam you could even get 38-43

Jesus Christ mate. 2 marks, whats your problem. I wouldn't care if I lost two marks. I'm thinking I lost quite a lot more than that, but luckily Enter score and Physics are not really a necessity for me. I struggle to understand how you can feel so depressed about loosing 2 marks. Like Taigastyle said, it really is infuriating to see you and other people complaining over loosing 2-4 marks.

Because losing two marks may prevent me from getting what I want, which is not necessarily what you want. In the same way you are not expected to share my expectations, I am not expected to share yours.
I could also argue that it's really infuriating for people to lose ten marks and celebrate while a lot of us are terribly disappointed, but to what end?
Jesus Christ indeed.

@ Akirus - it depends on the end of year. It's not all over yet. Last year, I don't know if you could've dropped any marks across the year to get a 50 because the exams were so ridiculously easy (maybe 1, probably none). Apparently -2 in 2008 earnt you a premiers award. So don't worry too much - if it's not a ridiculously easy exam at the end of the year, you should definitely be able to get a 50 with -2 marks. This exam was quite easy except for 1 or 2 questions, so it won't really differentiate students too much. A full score on this exam after standardisation (presuming that occurs) would probably mean much less than full marks on a decent end of year paper.

Thanks for the consolation. You're right, of course, there's nothing for it but to make the most of what's left this year. It's not over yet.
