:D i thought it was alright ...
-
absolute joke
-
yeah i was kind of expecting it be harder, and i thought we finished at one, and at 12 40 i was only up to question 2 so i sped through everything .... hahahaha
-
i finished with 45 mins to go
had an nice chil .. then with 10 mins to go i forgot i had 2 questions to answer hahah
farked up one hard . i said it was 137 double bonds LMFAOOO so anoyed
-
LOLOL! 137 hahaha that would be a crazy fattyacid haha
-
lets hope everyone else in the state fucked up big time... silly mistakes are gonna be a killer...
-
the examiners are gonna think im a dead shit when they see my answer hahah
hopefully A-A+ though .. shud be easy ..... mark will chill around 80-85% i think
the average will increase from 50% to about 65-75% i think personally
-
75%?? i hope not.. thats a preety big average lol.
-
lol yer but it didnt have any questions that were TOO tricky
-
was soo easy :D easiest exam out of physics and accounting
What did you guys write for the double bond question?
-
I got 6 double bonds but thats probably wrong.
-
6 double bonds?
-
I got 6 double bonds but thats probably wrong.
I got 6 too...
-
I got 6 double bonds but thats probably wrong.
i got six as well :) hopefully thats right (Y)
-
nah i got 6 too:)
thouhg on the whole it was too easy.....probs around 08 standard.....mabys even a lil easier........
-
So did people get a formula of C22H32i12O2
-
lol yer i got 6 double bonds and i got that formula too!
-
um what did people get for the 10kg question and the litres? i got 1.54L D:
-
lol sorry which question :S haha ive already forgotten ! D:
-
wasn't it 1.5 with 2 sf?
-
um what did people get for the 10kg question and the litres? i got 1.54L D:
I got sumthing along the 1.sumthing kgs...
-
naw D: i dont remember getting 1.5 for anything! dammit. haha
-
anyone get 5.40g, 3.82%, 1.5L for the final results for some questions?
-
yeah all of them
ur sweet :P
-
I didnt get 1.5. I did some calculation errors i think and got 0.251
probably lose a mark there. but i got the rest.
except i thought it was 2 sig figs so i did 3.8%
-
what did you get for why bunsen burner can't be used?
that was the only one that stumped me
-
um we dont loose marks if they dont specify u have to do sigfigs do you D: please someone say noooo
-
sf is assumed, they say it as a reminder
-
few things
bunsen burner cant accurately spread the heat
also it uses methane (gas) which could disturb results
and finally .. it would take too long to get the heat up to 300-400 degrees
probz got it wrong
-
what did you get for why bunsen burner can't be used?
that was the only one that stumped me
I just thought logic and said it is hard to keep a stable temperature of the bunsen burner while the alcohols condense.
-
sf is assumed, they say it as a reminder
so basically i lost a whole bunch of marksss D:
T__T
-
just 1 mark for whole paper
-
So did people get a formula of C22H32i12O2
shit were we meant to give the formula after it reacted with the iodine >.< dammit :(
-
everyone get 49 peptide bonds in MC?
-
guys guys guys
everyone is saying how EASSSY it is
dont forget how EASY it is to make silly mistakes
and how HARD they will mark it
vcaa isnt dumb
they made the exam easy as a response to last years "complain attack" .. then there gonna mark it like hardcore bitches ...
i know someone who said they will mark it ( went to a lecture) and he said that the SMALLEST mistake .. for .e.g
the question that was 0.22 % m.v or something ..... if people dont say %mv and only said .22 .. they got no marks
its harsh .. but that was their plan
-
everyone get 49 peptide bonds in MC?
sure DID *HI-5*

lol good i wrote it down tehn XD

No, I'm pretty sure it said just give the formula of the fatty acid.
-

AMEN!
-
it was just the formula for the fatty acid
-
how'd u go Kyzoo? smash it? ::)
-

it said of cervonic acid...which is before it is reacted??
-
The last question was EPIC LULZ!
Year 11 ftw.
-
how'd u go Kyzoo? smash it? ::)
I don't know >.< So far I lost one mark for something I didn't even see in the paper
-
nah it was just for formula for the acid before reaction, no iodine needed!
-
everyone get 49 peptide bonds in MC?
i got 50 cause like
L-L-L ever 3 there is 2 so every 51 there would be 50 D: dammitttt
kciking myself D:
-
dw i made the same mistake :-[
-
i still don't understand how it is 49. Someone please explain...
Souljette
-

Souljette
for a single chain its n-1 but there are two chains so n-2 = 49
-

I got that!
I thought the exam was okay, to be honest I shouldn't neglect my study till the last minute - I admit I spent all my energy on physics though.
-
Six bonds.
Well, its definitely harder than 2008 tbh. Easier than 2009, but plenty of places to blot your pen in the wrong place.
Question 1 with her Permanganate, question said to include states.
Know what I did?
To the side, had a big arrow to this and wrote:
Victoria
New South Wales
Queensland
South Australia
Western Australia
Tasmania
=P
-
lol goood one!!

Nice Work :) One Chemistry class leading up to the exam we were feeling a tad bored... and in addition to your "states" quip, we got the following terrible chem 'jokes' if you can sink so low as to call them that...
"Write a balanced equation for the condensation of ethanol and propanoic acid and include catalysts"
Catalysts: H2SO4, magic
"State whether the results in test-tubes 1 to 4 support the hypothesis. Give a reason for your answer."
Yes. Because.
"Describe the following errors: The heating element in one water bath caused fluctuations in temperature (random), the enzyme had lost some of its activity as a result of long storage time (systematic), no indicator was added to test tube 1 (just plain stupid)"
"State one improvement that could be made to the design of the experiment"
Wear an orange hat during the experiment.
