What do you think you will get?
Happy with your mark for amount of effort put in?
-
I'm happy but I think the rest of the state will be too....
Hopefully I can get an A
-
Really think that you should have made the options higher - a high percentage of people here are probably at least in the smartest 20% of the Chem group.
-
Then the ones who didnt do as good (because of silly mistakes) will feel ...left out?
-
I don't know how well i did, im doubtful i did terribly well :'(... spent wayyy to much time studying for bio and not enough for chem
-

Fair enough. In that case - maybe more poll options with smaller ranges, or can't you have more than 5?
-
it was out of 63?

I cbs aha

Not really that happy lol, I put way more effort into Chem than Physics, and now I am going to get higher for Physics 0.o
-
it was out of 63?
nahh 75.
-
I watched TV all day yesterday.. I'll probably get 72/75 and satisfied :D
-
I did not study for it yesterday, I was tired of studying...
Probs get about 65-69?
Alright I guess, I don't even like chem so that's my excuse :P
-

Same. I focused on Physics a great deal.

You serious? I stopped liking it since the start of the year!
-
lol and the thing is I don't even need it for anything, I just did it because I don't like humanities.
-

how did you manage that
-
my prediction out of 75 is..... not 75 xD
-
this is so gayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, so many stupid mistakes -.-" gonna get a B or B+ =.=
-
Yeah I'm boned. 60 for me. Won't get me an A will it now?
-

it should get u an A.
-
So many silly mistakes :( Probably 63/75. Hopeful for an A.
-
55-60 :'(

If Mao is right about "inability to control fractionating column temperature" being an invalid answer. Then 73/75
If stonecold is also right about the answer to the double bond in cervonic acid being exclusively 7, then 72/75.
If both are wrong, then 74/75
-
If Mao is right about "inability to control fractionating column temperature" being an invalid answer. Then 73/75
Otherwise 74/75, provided that I correctly coloured in the boxes in the MC answer sheet which is a concern.
I hate this waiting thing. I wan't it to be over with.

August 2nd. 9 long weeks.

The waiting has just started. D:
-
60-66 can i scrape an A out of this?
thoroughly regretting not putting some effort in at the beginning of the year
stupid stupid mistakes- literacy helps with exams- should have learned how to read first!

haha yeah. do I have to scan the stuff for you or was it someone else. I forgot lol. I think I'm printing it tomoz hopefully.

Hopefully A+ cut off is same as 2008 (because of all the silly mistakes people have made) then il get borderline A+. otherwise high A. Is it still possible for 40 raw?
-
70-71 depending on if they expect 7 bonds for the double bonds q due to the C=O...
-
Worst case scenario 56/75 which is a B+ according to '08 data (I hope its similar to '08 data)....
My confidence is slowly fadin away.....
-
I did horribly. Seriously. I'm guessing 71-74, but most probably about 73. Fail. Fail. Fail. Fail. Maybe even lower. Fail. Fail. Fail. Hopefully the cut offs are much lower than we're imagining judging from the number of low 60 scorers here.

That's what's giving me hope, people on here should be getting very high marks.

I'm sure you did awesome and that your stressing over nothing. It's over anyway, nothing to do now but wait....
-
according to Mao's solutions 66-68/75
Soo pissed with getting 5 wrong on Multis. Hopefully high A or scrape an A+.
quick query. What study score can i be looking at with a high A and mid A+ on end of year?
EDIT: And oh yeah as ive said before. those who are guns (appian, stone etc.) stress less. Just think if you have made these mistakes, consider the number of silly mistakes made by the rest of the state. After all, VCE notes is really only a small sample size of basically the top students in the state. so its hard to judge
-
where can i find the 2008 data?

And no, I'm just annoyed because I know the stuff but there's a chance that I might not do very well... and it's even harder that everyone expects me to do well this year :/
-
This exam didn't test chemistry. If you attended classes and did the tiniest bit of revision, you knew exactly how to do every single question. Dumb mistakes will separate B+ from A+, which in my opinion is disgusting.
-
No one anywhere, be it on here, at home or school expects anything from anyone. Everyone tries their best, and as long as you are content with the effort that you put in, then you should be proud of yourself.
And this goes for everyone. :)

appian i am in the exact same boat.
i knew everything very well, but the exam had these tricks that had nothing to do with knowing the course or not - just interpretation. my sac results were very high and being rank 1, i am expected to do really well - i don't quite think i am going to live up to these expectations.:(
-
Thanks appianway,
and btw i know where you're coming from- stupid stupid STUPID mistakes are praobably gonna screw me over royally

You sure you got them wrong, or is it just one of those bad feelings? I'm sure you did fine. Disregard the irrelevant factors, doesn't matter what others think.
-
I'm sure I dropped 1 mark. Hopefully I'll get consequentials for the rest of the question, but if I don't, that's another point gone. I think everything else is right, but maybe I accidentally coloured in a multiple choice (although I'm pretty sure I didn't). And then you never know how they mark your explanations...

All you can do is hope - they always mark the explanations in a completely shonky way - but maybe that will change with this online marking. I can assure you that two or three marks won't be the end of the world :)
-
Strongly diminishes my chances of getting high 40s :(
Hmm must now gun methods, english and french so that chemistry is in my bottom two...

Ah, that's not something to lose sleep over. Don't worry about something that's not concrete yet, I'm willing to bet it will go in your favor come August.

Dude, its 1 mark. I'm sure 99% of the people in the state would kill to have lost only 1 mark.
-
I probably lost more. That's the problem. I probably lost quite a few more.
-
Just don't worry about it. Everyone talks themselves up saying they smashed it. It is impossible to know how things will pan out until results day, so no point stressing or worrying. Focus your energy on what is ahead.
-
hypothetically (of course):
if you had the right answer written but then crossed it out (in pen) and wrote something else would you still be able to get a mark?? or two if its out of 3 or 4

If you want to put it that way, I'm sure people would have killed for 50% as well. Who cares what other people think, it's about your own standards and expectations.

What I absolutely hate is the way that the exam is about who didn't stuff up rather than what you know. Just one of the many reasons I hoped for an insanely hard exam.
Well there is still unit 4 and all the other yr12 exams to look forward to.

ow same hereee :|

my sister said she found unit 4 more enjoyable lol so hopefully that is true!

I DO wish you'd stop being so pessimistic!
-
Omg socliffe, amazing scores!
-
Well so far I've found out I've lost a mark every 6 hours since the exam. So I predict a bit fat 0.

Maybe you should stop reading the Chem exam discussion and think about something else - then you won't lose any more marks!
