Hey guys... Im just wondering what everybodies favourite/least favourite subjects are...
For me... probably Legal Studies, im enjoying the way the class is run, we spend about 10 minutes each class discussing issues and news and in general its just enjoyable... hoping for a 40
My least favourite subject is Methods.... probably cause its hard =/... i need a 35+ in this!
What about yours
-
Biology = :smitten:. I find it's really interesting and fascinating.
I really dislike Methods, definately my worst subject. I find it's just really hard to get my head around and remember everything.
-
Physics ♥ > Spec > English language > Chem > Methods (probably because I did it in year 11) > Information Systems > Chinese (because its hardddd xD)
I liked all of my subjects :D
-
During VCE: Specialist Maths, Chemistry, Methods, Physics (distant 2nd last), English (extremely distant last).
Right now:
1. Engineering Analysis A
2. Introductory Econometrics
3. Business Finance
4. Organic and Bio-organic Chemistry.
I like all of my subjects this semester, but Engineering Analysis A (maths) is easily first. Chemistry really shouldn't be last, but compared to the subjects I'm doing now, it just happens to be...
-
Well during VCE Business Management would definitely have been my favourite subject. Least favourite would have been English...
At the moment my favourite subject is The Fundementals of Mathematics ^_^ Love it! Least favourite would be Geometry (and im dropping it) :D
-
My favourite: IT Apps and Further Maths, time seems to go faster in both of those subjects.
Least favourite: A Tie between Business Management and English, both very boring.

:o :o :o Business Management! Boring! OMG!
-
MUEP > Spec (coz i dnt do anything) > chem > phys (coz of stupid electronics) > eng > eng lang (sorry cmel, EL essays are killing me, literally =S)
-
During VCE: UMEP Maths > Spesh > Methods > Physics > Chemistry > Accounting (it wasn't difficult, just uninteresting) > English > UMEP Maths
Uni Days: This is really hard to decide since I love all my subjects.
It would probably go Japanese > Physics > Algorithms > Maths B
in order of how much I pay attention in the respective lectures
-
2007 and 2008 combined
♥LEGAL STUDIES♥ > Accounting> Further Maths> Economics> Business Management> English > MATHS METHODS :@
But to be honest I enjoy all my subjects this year. To be fair to economics, it is by far the most enlightening&intriguing subject I do.
-
FRENCH
STUDYING FRENCH
basically everything else I find boring (IT:Apps, Further Maths) or requires too much deep thought and undertanding (Methods and English)
-
Hmm...for me its a tie between Lit and physics. Although i am probably speaking too soon with physics because we havn't started electronics yet. :P
-
spec > methods > physics > music > english
-
During VCE I liked Psych and both my literatures. I never hated any of my subjects, I didn't even hate methods even though I found it a bit more difficult than my other subjects.
Now, I just like my subjects. Maybe Philosophy is my favourite? But Poli Sci has it's moments to. My favourite class is definitely advanced studies but I'm not sure if it counts. I also like how psych gives me a break from my arts subjects because they get pretty heavy (as in, they aren't particularly difficult, they just give me a lot to think about, and psych is more just about learning the material IMO).
-
history > media/politics/legal studies (equal second) > english > further > english language (only cos my teacher was horrible and i hated her, the subject may have been enjoyable with a different teacher)
i like/d all my subjects really cept english language haha
-
For me this year it would probably go:
Spec ;D>Economics>Methods>Physics>English
I've also found Economics more enlightening and intriguing this year than I thought it would be.
I found the first few chapters in Methods this year (Functions/Relations) to be a little dry, but I'm sure things are set to improve. :)
-
Least favourite: A Tie between Business Management and English, both very boring.
can't agree with you any further!. Bus. Man was so boring I nearly slept through it lawlz.
Math = Eco > Eng.
-
my favourite would have to be accounting and my least by far is economics, really unapealling subject
-
FRENCH
THATS MY FAVOURITEST UNI SUBJECT
then contract law, intro to legal reasoning, and international studies
VCE umm ....
MUSIC <3 .... then english, german, international studies, chemistry, biology, and business management and maths methods are equal last ugh horrible horrible subjects they were (sorry odette:P)
-
Favourite subject was definitely Turkish.
Then Spec > Chem> Methods > English > Accounting -( Worst subject ever :@ )
-

:o :o :o More BusMan haters :( :'(
-
Physics (oh god, the things we learn... physics is amazing) > General Maths > Maths Methods > Chemistry > Biology > Chinese > English
-
Jap > MUEP > Spec > Chem > Bio > Methods > Eng
-
my favourite would have to be accounting and my least by far is economics, really unapealling subject
Yay less competition ;)
-
Hmm...
For me at the moment:
1. History Renaissance :) & National Politics :smitten:
2. Literature
3. English
4. Maths Methods (I can't find a kill me now smiley - damn)
5. Ethics. Lol. Compulsory RE cracks me up. We've actually got a SAC for this in second week back :2funny: I just have to get a S.
And History Revolutions is sort of neutral as I did it last year - I found the material interesting but I didn't like learning it as a VCE subject, and I didn't really care anymore by the end of the year.
-
In Year 12 my fave subject was Psychology, then Chem then methods....
Bio and English were CRAP!!!!
At uni.....
1. Engineering Systems Design (the only subject my crush is in with me)
2. Finance (Struggling...but in a way very interesting...)
3. Calculus 1 (I hate maths)
4. Informatics (damn programming!!! Python language is very hard to learn)
-
During my VCE year Psych was definitely my favourite. I found it to be a really interesting and rewarding subject.
For me it probably went like this;
1. Psych
2. History Revs
3. English
4. Business
5. Further

i prefer english over maths any day
-
I'd say Multimedia (last year) > Further > Business Management/Media > International Studies > English (distant last)
Haha.. not an English fan..
-
My favourite: IT Apps and Further Maths, time seems to go faster in both of those subjects.
Least favourite: A Tie between Business Management and English, both very boring.
:o :o :o Business Management! Boring! OMG!
yeah the teacher kinda killed that subject for me.
-
i like both even though i like english more. it actually requires deep thought while maths is quite methodical and formulaic, and can be done without any innate conceptual understanding. you can never like both equally.
reverse ditto

chemistry> specialist> biology> english> methods(my teach is an ass)

With math, you develop your higher order logical reasoning, problem solving spacial and other awesome skills. Not with english, in fact, I've gotten better at writing language anaylsises due to math. loool.

I hypothesize that there is a correlation between the degree to which people "like" or "enjoy" a subject, and the person's relative performance in that subject.

I agree, and have thought about this many times...
I think it happened to me with history in year 9. On reflection now I understand I really didn't like the subject, but a month after it I was telling everyone to choose that class and how much I liked that class, only because I got an A+ on the exam.
-
Ditto, I would say approximately 1/2 of it is ego.
-
1) ESL - most relaxing class ever!
2) Accounting - the stuff is pretty easy compared to uni accounting
3) Economics - learning interesting stuff but teacher a bit boring =(
4) Chinese - everyone seemed so good in my class =.=
5) Uni Accounting - its an alright subject but i get really confused
6) Methods - not THAT bad but i make so much careless mistakes and forget how to do stuff
7) Legal Studies - omg i hated it so bad!!

Duh. Also might have something to do with a person being a humanities or a maths/science person. Some people just don't get one subject as well.

he he, I did 3 Englishes over the 2 years of VCE. It was fun.

Totally disagree. I did Lit last year and it is a totally differnt approach IMO to texts then you use in English. Especially the structure of essays.
-
Yeah and Lit is just plain better than English (not just because I got a higher score in Lit although maybe partially :D)

Bahaha
I think you got screwed over in English personally.
-
I wish my school had Classics. Damn that would be awesome. I could drop English or Methods for it :)
-
Well last year i loved Further Maths, nothing can beat it.. it's so bludgy and easy to get high marks. only bad thing about it was simple/stupid mistakes or misinterpreting the questions.
As for worst subject.. I must admit its got to be Calculus 1 this year. I don't understand anything :(
