I don't understand how only ~15-20 would end up with a degree?
Do the other ~80 fail hard or do they give up?

Well while he other people might not fail as suchthey may not get high enouh marks to get exemption from part one of actuaril test, his 'inspiring' them to switch majors (the mark needed is something like 73%)
