What SAC marks and exam mark should I be looking at if I want a raw of 35?
-
Perhaps 3 low A's?

Yeah averaging around an ~A, and depending on how strong your ranking is, you could maybe get away with a B+ on exam.
-
35 raw would be like 3 high B+s
to put it in perspective, I got 37 with A, B+ and A+ for the exam. Yeah Im guessing my teacher hated me.the fucking bitch

Umm how is the study score of english determined? cos we only get 1 exam.....

Unit 3 SAC mark
Unit 4 SAC mark

How much percent do the SACs and Exam contribute to the total score?

How much percent do the SACs and Exam contribute to the total score?
they are 50% each (entire year sacs are 50%, exam is 50%)

So Unit 3 SACs and Unit 4 SACs are combined? Or do they have a seperate ranking?

well you have a GA1, GA2 and GA3 at the end of the year when you get your grade.
you get a ranking for a GA1 and then GA2 (units 3 and 4 respectively), which are worth 25% each.

35 raw would be like 3 high B+s
Even at an Average (crap) school?

if average, it should be high B+/low A scores for ~35

This makes me feel somewhat better about English.

So how does that work? Let's say someone got rank 3 for GA1 and rank 1 for GA2 how would that work in calculating the relative exam/SAC scores?

This makes me feel somewhat better about English.
really? makes me feel worse. was hoping for a 40, but i'm worried my exam mark won't be too flash. not even sure what i'm aiming for on the exam.

-
I would be so happy if I got 35 as my scaled score....
Ok so in semester 1 my ave sac mark is something like B. Do I have a chance ..
-
I'm happy with a raw score of 35 for English. =]

What is the average mark? is it like 5/10? :S
What would three 7/10s give you? At least over 30?

Depends on the difficulty of the exam
Three 7/10's would be most likely around A... the cut-off's are a lot lower than other subjects
-
Yeah, 7/10 for each essay would get you high 30s if you had an average cohort and solid sac scores.
-
^ yep, as usually 8/10 for each essay is around the cutoff for an A+.
-
how exactly does the calculation for the score work?
so they combine all the SAC marks together and that makes up 50 % of the total study score along with 50% from the exam?
so it doesnt matter if ive done poorly in unit 3 as long as i make up for it in unit 4 right..
and can you bring in a paper dictionary into the exam?
