I've also signed up for SMS which I've never done before (including VCE) and that's supposed to be coming tonight also.

afc1000 << hopefully 70+
btc1110 << as above
fit1004 << i know i failed because i didnt do the exam since im dropping BIT
fit1001 << discontinued half way through

Oh wow. Dropping BIT? How come?
Did you discontinue fit1001 for the same reason? Why did you choose BIT in the first place btw?
I'm doing 1004 next sem, heard its hell  hard... scared outta my mind for it :S
i did 1003 and 2001 this sem and doing 2002 and 1004 next sem.

Why was it a bad decision but? What about it did you not like? And not to sound arrogant or anything but how do you know that 1003 and 2001 will allow me to do fine in 1004... because I certainly don't think I will do fine :( haha

I'm on a scholarship, I think I told you. Bachelor of Business (Management) and im doing a 2nd major in IT (but it's not your classical IT-ish sort of major) ... and then 1st semester 2011 ill be doing 22 week placement at IBM which takes up 4 units (1 semester).
Title: Re: Monash Semester 1, 2010 Results Discussion

1003 is IT for Organisations which is sort of like Business Management for IT students lol but then it has an IT twist. ERP's CRM's , Security, etc

2001 is Systems Analysis and Design which is completely different to 1003. And by the sounds of things they are both quite different to 1004.

But 1004 is a pre-req for 2001 (but they waived this pre-req for us IBM scholarship recipients) sooooo maybe it is an advantage doing 2001 (although i doubt the extent to which its an adv)

You dont have to be a Caulfield student to apply, but if you do get the scholarship you have to be willing to transfer to the Bachelor of Business (at Caulfield) which about 3-4 of the 11 of us did.

what happens if you fail an exam?

depends on the unit, and how well you did in everything else I guess. Some units have a "hurdle mark" for the exam, some don't. If you fail overall or fail an exam hurdle you'll get to have fun repeating.

2 subjects I have a very good chance of failing =[ Sucks because I felt like I put a lot of effort into both. Once again subject I'm most confident in is the subject I put no effort into and don't care about...

Hopefully I passed one because I've got a third through the next unit in its sequence.

French is about what I expected and Contract is marginally better than predicted. Overall - relief.

I know what you mean with ILR. One of the worst exams I've ever done. I must have gotten carried by my mid-sem test and court report.

Haha same, I probably went into the exam a little less prepared than I was for Contract because I'd already done pretty well in the test and court report. Still, going in I felt confident enough and the exam itself wasn't any harder than it's been in previous years, I just did terribly. Planned poorly and panicked the whole way through. Anyway, I passed, so all is well.

How'd you go?

I went better than expected for both law subjects. I was in the same situation for ILR. After contracts I slacked off a bit and figured I already had some decent marks behind me from the mid-sem test and court report. I stupidly drank iced-coffee before the exam and had to run to the loo twice, causing me to panic throughout the exam.

I'm really hoping to nail semester 2 subjects. RAW looks like it is going to be painfully boring though -__-

That maths mark meant full marks on the exam. Surprised physics is my 2nd highest. Chem exam was hard but didn't think it was that low. On the plus side have a GPA of 4.0 and a WAM of 89.50% 0.5% off 90% :(

All maths sounds so lovely. I get to do 2 maths subjects this semester but then won't be able to do 2 maths per semester until 3rd and 4th year

It's sucky they don't let you skip subjects or finish something within a shorter period. Darn pre-reqs and minors and necessary subjects and doing them in the right order. It's only like that because they assume everyone doesn't know what they're doing. I'm sure everyone will have a pointless conversation with the faculties where they mention everything you already know

yea the thing im hating atm is minor sequence, im not that bothered with the pre reqs since i could skip if i want but i HAVE to complete a minor sequence no matter what, so boring.

That's not true, I talked to a course advisor last year and she said you can do your units in whatever order you want as long as you meet all the course requirements. And I'm sure with your marks they'd let you skip prereqs as well. You have more freedom than you think.
