Hi everyone,
I really wanted to do nursing/commerce at deakin but the course has been removed for 2011. Where else can i do nursing (on its own) in victoria? Any suggestions or recommendations?

There are many institutions that offer nursing so don't worry. My advice would be to go onto VTAC's Course Search for more details.
I just clicked:
1. "Undergraduate Courses"
2. "Universities" under the "Select an institution type:" field.
3. And typed "Nursing" in the "Enter a title keyword:" field.
4. Then it gave me a plethora of choices.

Yeah I know there are quite a number of places that provide it, but i can't decide where :-\
Vic uni is closer but then the name...
Which one would you pick?
-
tell me about it i live in walking distance but still dont wanna go there so go to like latrobe or something.
-
You live walking distance from VU? Coz if you do, do i know you by any chance? =o
-
Which VU are you close to? (More people from the west side, nice)
Anyway, i wouldn't go to VU at all.
The other three seem fine, we need so many nurses at this point i doubt it would matter which of those 3 you went to.
-
I think all offer pretty good nursing degrees. We do have a shortage of nurses, so you should get a job regardless of where you go. Maybe go to open days, ask around about subjects and about specialities, visit the campuses. Just pick the one you see yourself liking the most!

Haha you go to CRC i know where that is. I live near the St Albans campus. The other 3 unis are so far though. I dont have my Ps yet so If i dont get it by the end of this year or beginning of next year, it's going to be like 5hours of transport to get there and back =.="

So you would pick latrobe in my case? What about double degree nursing/midwifery is the extra year worth it?

thats the course i am doing but i'm jumping between ACU and latrobe.
LAtrobe i get a double degree with like an extra year i can get 2 courses but the travel is double and from stalbans its like a long way.
ACU is in hte city and relatively good and close but 3 years for a single degree.
I DONT KNOW
well midwifery/nursing is the course i am doing :)

Yeah, i know sucks living on the west side doesn't it. Just get something from the chilli deli and try not to get stabbed on your way to the station maybe pick up some bubble cup along the way then go to la trobe. Yeah i know it sucks and its super-far but its worth it, if you really feel strongly about doing nursing.
I really want to do medicine, so i'd go all the way to monash for it too but if i don't get in im going somewhere closer.
i didnt hear that O_O
Oh... thats where ANNA HINH went ( i found you do i get like a prize)

Hahaha sounds like something i would do. Should i go monash for nursing? O_O

Monash have nursing? Probably harder to get into but its probably more prestigious but we have such a shortage of nurses at this point it wouldn't matter.

Which one is good... i always go to the one in the cake shop but people tell me theres a better one...
Yeah, i know, i wish they were all on the west side too. I've heard people on here say they're just like around the corner from monash.. envy much?
Monash and la trobe are about the same traveling time i reckon give or take 10 minutes but still really far

I agree with Anna, nothing compares to the actually "bubble cup". I tried the one from the cake shop once but never went back there again. What is it with CRC students buying it from the cake shop and hopping on the 419 bus? I use to see that everyday... O__O
-
Holy crap... theres an actual bubble cup store? i thought there was just the cake shop and the one inside the "dvd cave"
Probably because the cake shop is near the bus stop and they're lazy
