why are some people getting them earlier/later? Do the schools set when you can recieve your marks?

(Good luck, by the way)

I was thinking I got B/B+. Alas, A+. Feels good. Must have been a fucking low cut off this year, you may recall me QQing in the discussion thread about the further electronics being bloody hard this year... I must have got most of the ones I guessed correct. Anyone know when the reports are meant to come out? I'm still itching to find out how to do half a dozen of those questions.

I was unsure about my electronic section as well but i must of got about 100% on it since i know for sure i made mistakes in motion.

B+ :( fml

I got B+ in chem but its not too late to get high 30's even maybe 40. Your b+ could be like one mark off an A

Further electronics... the main electronics was incredibly easy. But I did make a painfully stupid mistake on Q1 - I said the voltage changed :(

Title: Re: Exam Results!
Post by: m@tty on August 02, 2010, 04:54:05 pm
I'm not sure, but Somewhere between 8 and 12, depending on how generous the examiners were with consequentials...

Hoping to ace unit 4 in order to rectify this, honestly, hideously stupid slip up. I got the sliding blocks, spring and one of the "pick-the-graph-and-justify" questions wrong, as well as misreading the angle of embankment from my calculator and placing the wrong arrow for reaction force on the bike...

/whinge

What did you get?
Title: Re: Exam Results!
Post by: Davoo! on August 02, 2010, 05:09:34 pm
got and A. Not so pleased...

I think completely missing the draw the forces on the bike fucked me over. 2 marks gone. Could have been an A+.

What would I have to get in my next exam, to get above 30.
If I got a C for the exam, and have been averaging about a B in the Sacs.

though I must admit, I was expecting it. I made way too many dumb mistakes to have done much better. Also, most of our class got B+, too, so it makes me feel better.

I think I aced the phyiscs exam. Unless they took off a random mark for an explain question I'm pretty confident. :)

Same. . . but I sense there seems to be a melancholy aura in the air surrounding the results.
I mean, some ppl screwed up badly, and still got A+ . . . so how low was the A+ cut off mark (or did they actually do better than expectedl)?

A+ cut off was 81.
Source:http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/statistics/2010/midyear/vce_physics_ga1_10.pdf
I've never read these before, so I'm assuming that those ranges are just double the exam mark (To account for half marks or something?). A+ range 162-180, exam out of 90... 162/2=81.

Feel free to give me + karma :D

Got my statement of marks today! I recieved a B+ for Physics, but was only 1 multiple question off getting an A! Talk about frustrating!
Still, considering i found the exam quite difficult I'm rather happy.  The majority of my class got D+'s with only a few getting As and Bs - makes me worried that our SAC marks will scale down :S

Are you serious? I don't go to that kids school.

But the majority of my class got D's. We had one guy who got an A+, two guys who got B's. I got a C. Then about 8 kids got D's...

Does that mean my teacher shouldn't be teaching. Or is it just that I go to a school, where we don't boast on our academic results. But instead the teacher's encourage us to do subjects that we enjoy, and VCE isn't everything...

Being brutally honest, you won't get Ds if you actually enjoy Physics. And really, just from paying attention in class, I daresay most people should be able to obtain at least a C (45-55%). Hence the teacher appears of questionable quality.

Teacher must be doing something if we have an A+ student. And kids are getting D's and the C like myself, instead of E's of UG. And we are only doing Physics because we have to, as one of our pre requisites. Or thought a science would be fun. We aren't ones who are taking the subject to seriously.
Also paying attention doesn't do much, when you forget all of it on the weekend, every week of the school term. And then trying to study as much as you can the day before the exam.

Well I guess it's largely down to the students, but it does still sound terrible. And I did just remember that it's a rank not a mark... so I'm a bit iffy about it all.
