I go to Melbourne Girls College which is fairly strict in attendance. Im hitting around 85% attendance on average
Will my school really fail me and not give me my VCE because i didnt achieve 90% or is it just to make students come to school?

Are they approved absences?
Apparently I missed 82 classes last semester, but they were all approved. I haven't been told I'm going to fail.

i think it depends on each school. My school isn't strict on it, but then again i go to a crap public school.

My school its more of a threat, if you get under 90% you just give a good reason and you're good.
All my Melbourne Girls friends are sitting on <80% so you should be fine, just stop wagging kays ;]

I couldn't agree more. School is just a waste of time. Far better to learn the material on your own, and if you have trouble with some aspects, you can consult your teacher; as opposed to trying to understand the teacher's weird explanations on the whiteboard.

I thought that VCAA requires 80%, but most schools want 90% to make sure they pass well above.
I remember people I know talking about Muna haha 8) (good things, dw)

My school says you need to attend 80% of classes.
So no, if you don't have 90% you'll still be fine

btw i think 80% is the vcaa regulation thing, but the "good" schools will generally do something if you have more than 10% unapproved.

no you will not fail for not getting 90%, but just get approved absenses for the ones that you can, and you should be fine.
