Hey, just wondering what everyone wants to get for business management (SS) and how much homework you do per week for business?
Also, for people who completed business in previous years, when do you recommend to start revising for the exam? I know you should keep up to date with notes for the whole year etc, but I mean when to actually start revising specifically for the exam?

I want a study score of 40 scaled (43 raw). I do 6 hours of study a week for Business Management.

I'm going to start studying for the exam about a month before. I'll just start off with 1 hour a week and gradually build up until the exams closer. Going to an 'exam study' lecture will also help.

I want 43 aswell..I think i'l start to revise a few months into the exam as there is so much content and definitions..

wow.. is it necessary to start revising that early? lol (need someone who has done business to respond)

A few months into the exam?? LOL
Anyways I think you should start revising for the business management exam say around the end of term 3? Business management doesn't need much study, you just need to focus more on improving the quality of your responses, and looking up examples of organisations.
My advice would be to be consistant throughout the year, so that come exam preparation time you don't have to stress all that much, because you do have other subjuects you'd want to focus on.
Hope that helps ^_^

I want a 43 before scaling lol And I've been a bit slack in first term. I've drafted my study timetable and have allowed for 4 hours one week and 3 hours the next (on a 2 week rotating basis).

Last year I started revising in the September holidays. This consisted of typing up all my notes and summarising all the key points in accordance with the study design dot points. After the September holidays I didn't really do much until about two weeks leading up to the exam. I read over the notes briefly each day and did three or four prac exams. Compared to my other subjects, revising for bus man was VERY relaxed.

Woah mate, is that six hours in addition to classes? Thats HEAPS. I got a 43 raw for bus man last year and I probably did 2-3 hours a week MAX. You should easily reach your goal with 6 hours study each week.

Yeah, 6 hours a week study at home. Basically about an hour most weeknights and a little bit on the weekend. It is mainly just doing Checkpoints and reading and highlighting the text book. The teacher doesn't give homework so I have to create my own.

yeah that's pretty much what I did- one month before the exam was a good amount.
Lectures are fantastic, I went to 3, but that probably wasn't necessary for bus man.

thanks mate- I went to TSFX, EdAssist and Access Education.
TSFX notes were awesome, I'd recommend them. But they are the most expensive.
And Access Education was pretty good, heaps cheaper and the lecturer was the author of "A+ Business Notes"
Just don't go to EdAssist.

Don't go to EdAssist, it was pretty shoddy.
Okay cool, did you go to TSSM?
Nope, but my friend did and i think he said it was alright.
Oh and sorry, I edited that other post coz i forgot to mention Access

I went to Access last year too. She was brilliant- her name was Debra McNaughton I think. One of the best lectures I ever went to.

Don't go to the TSSM one... i went last year and it was a waste of time...

Yeah, Debra McNaughton that's the one!
lol I was probably in the same lecture
Did you come all the way from Echuca for it?

Would you say this about other subjects that TSSM offers or just the business lecture?

I went to the Bendigo one; she probably lectured at a number of different locations.

I do like next to no homework for BM, don't know what to expect, but I know it won't be anything very high.
-
So far my marks have been 20/25 for Outcome 1 and Outcome 2A
I will step up effort soon I think.

Ahh.. my teacher won't tell us what marks we got.. but he did tell me I got a Very High (and I was really confident with it so I am hoping I didn't drop a mark)
-
I don't like it when schools do that to students. I like to know what I got when I do a SAC, and we are always given that privilege.

Yeah, it's bloody annoying... My english teacher hasn't even told me what I got on my first SAC (I did it about 6 weeks ago).. I haven't even got a rough mark (Low, Medium, High).. NOTHING!! Apparently he will give me further details after the "moderation process".. bloody slack teachers take forever to cross-mark

I think that is the norm for the first English SAC if you did a 4 period Language Analysis and a 2 period P.O.V like we did.
We finished the SAC about 5 weeks ago and the "cross-marking" is apparently still going.

Nah it was a Text-Response essay.

Cross marking is a joke. Last year my English teacher (who was the harshest teacher from the faculty) wouldn't even take into account the cross marking process when she assigned the final grade. It was obvious that regardless of what the second teacher indicated, she would base the final mark on her marking only. *rolls eyes*

That happened to my class too.
