I did IS last year, and I would have done IT apps this year if I wasn't doing chinese. (probably would have done better in IT apps given that I far exceeded my expectations last year too. oh well)
I think I'm the only year 12 to have ditched IT out of the lot of us that did it last year, woot.

I did Information Systems (now IT:Software Development) last year and got a study score of 39. I would have got something higher, but my friends and I didn't take the course seriously at all. Like, we basically did no work in class (and instead played networked games of Super Smash Brothers on Project64k. Or I sometimes worked on my programming projects), did the SACs on the very last day, and only studied for the exam the week before :P

Oh, and we had the worst textbook ever :P

Weren't there *no* good textbooks for it?
My one was yellow and called something like 'building information systems' which for some parts had mistakes in it, typos etc, we asked our teacher and he said it was better than the other ones out there which is why we had it.

Btw I got 48 and someone else in my class got 49

And how do you network project 64? Not like I need to know it any more now that school's finished, but we had in study periods 4 player mario kart using 2 keyboards connected to the one computer, it would have been so much more awesome to have both the 2 computers at the back on the same game!

Oh we had that textbook too. I struggled to read it because it was so dull and boring.

And if while we're bragging about, i mean, discussing scores, i scored in the realm of 48-49 too!

"Navigating IS". Book with blue cover. Really bad, heaps of mistakes and stuff. Some of the things I remember:
"...due to attenuation, fibre optic is not recommended for distances over 100 metres..."
"...One disadvantage of FireWire ports is that it can only connect up to 63 devices to the one port..." (lolz, 'sif that's a disadvantage)
"...The maximum effective distance of infra-red is 2000 m"
"Personal information such as name and credit card details are also examples of information that cookies can collect and store." (lolz, credit card details in cookies     )
And it just goes on and on and on. The whole book read like it was some guy ranting in his blog.

A modified version of it called Project64k. You run the Kaillera server on one of the computers, and then both connect to that server from within Project64k (additionally, there's online servers if you want to play online).

I probably would have got a score like that if I took the class seriously :P
My 39 was the highest in my school... Half the class didn't care about it and got less than 30.

Sorry, but the real hard core nerds do my head in lol

Iv averaged an A for my sacs, and am probs in the top 4/5. Any ideas what ss id be looking at?

Yeah I'm doing both IT: Systems and Applications. It's easy but I'm not sure whether I'll get the study score I want.

Man, that's still good! I'm just worried cus I stuffed up my last SAC (68%), which pretty much ruined the >90% scores I was aiming for lol.

I'm doing I.T Applications this year. Enjoyed most of the course, but the content related to businesses (such as hierarchies, decision making etc.) I don't really like because it's not purely I.T related.

I'm aiming for high 40's.

Ah... yes... IT Apps, otherwise known as the ultimate bludge subject! It's amazing how even though the subject has 10 hour long SACs, it still manages to be such an easy subject!
