just wondering how everyone is finding accounting this year. I'm really enjoying it and find it generally pretty easy, i expect it to be my best subject in terms of study score. I sure wouldnt mind a 43. What does everyone else want?
-
I'm really liking it too. I'm hoping for 40+.
Where are you up to? We've just finished the General Journal.
-
yeh same also, is your text book the neville box one?
-
Nope. We're actually using the Cambridge one, but my teacher sometimes gives us handouts from the Neville Box one.
-
We're using Cambridge too and I like it. We are starting Chapter 9 tomorrow so just finished General Ledger. Finding it fun. I got some really positive comments from my teacher as I was walking to Economics. 46/50 for first SAC. Very happy =)
-
my teacher is so slow because the class is... sigh we're only starting the general journal o.0 im finding it really easy and hardly pay attention in class >.< ive learnt a lot of it in uni accounting d tho =)
-
Wow. Uni Accounting. Sounds hot =P
Better try get ahead or else your class will be rushing to finish the course before the mid year!
-
well i must say my accounting class seriously struggles they all argued with me today claiming the mid-year exam does not count for anything. after awhile i was like oh okay u guys must be right then, my bad. hahah only gonna benefit me i guess
-
LOL! Midyear is definitely worth 0% of your study score =P

lol. Did your teacher correct them?
-
yeh he said it makes up 33% but i think only a few heard that. ahh public schools u certainly get a laugh
-
lol i bet i would learn most of the vce course through uni accounting already anyway... right now im just reading the textbook when the teacher is discussing the BIG load of questions she set for hw (which i never do)... she makes us do all the review ques in the yellow box of the cambridge textbook n i reckon they're so useless
-
I like review questions. =) Do you have the work book too? Thats good as

I know! I love that all the templates are given to you. It will be like that in the exam, right?
-
yeah, templates are given in the exams. it's nicer that way. and during reading time, it's a good idea to look through the templates so you get an idea of what you may need to answer.
there's no work book for cambridge is there, sheepz? i think macrob's text book is also kinda like a work book...and yeah, of COURSE you're ahead of class =P such a smart cookie!

Wow. Thats like...pretty far behind one would assume. We finished chapter 7 on the holidays but it was sposed to be done before school finished so was just catchup.
We didnt use one for year 11. We just used the computer printouts or just did them on the computer.
But I'm loving it. So nifty.
-
i feel left out about these review questions they seem cool
-
We have theory questions which are called Review Questions and Exercises which are like small scenarios which incorporate prac and theory as an exam would
-
we hav a workbook? i didnt know that >.< but we are doing the stuff on the templates anyway on the computer so yeah... is that basically what the workbook is about?
-
Pretty much the same thing as the workbook but the workbook is so practical. You can take it home, not have to worry about emailing the bits you did in class home, etc.
So convinient
-
ohh ok i usually take the templates home through a usb anyway so its all good =) i normally try n bring home as lil stuff possible anyway n i like to chat n do my work at the same time so yeah >.<

For the mid-year, I strictly advise you to do all of the *easy* general journals. These pick up easy marks, in 2-3 minutes you may have accumulated 5 marks! :)
and oh btw, the mid-year is so important. I'm deadly serious, DO NOT TAKE IT $%($%( LIGHTLY. If I gotten a high A+ in the mid-year I think I would've certainly landed with a 45.
