Title: Urgent
Post by: lisafaustina on September 04, 2010, 08:44:13 am
You know when you have like three forces forming some equilibrium 3-point thing, how do you like resolve it in a certain direction? Like 10cos(20) + 2cos(30) + 3cos(45) that kinda thing.  how do you like determine the angle.. Textbooks don't have a clear explanation at all. I thought you had to set a direction and go anticlockwise from it but I dunno I'm confused please help me I have a SAC on Monday :(

Always resolve anti-clockwise from the x-axis.

Although in truth, it shouldn't matter where you resolve from, so long as you're consistent.
