Title: Training Models
Post by: ben92 on September 27, 2010, 11:59:02 am
Can someone fill me in on training models? I can't find it anywhere in my book (Potts).

Edit: I should note this popped up in a trial exam this morning.

I'm assuming it's talking about the different methods to train someone in the workplace. There's a few:

One-on-one
- One specialised trainer works with an untrained employee.

Train the trainer / Trainee-trainer (usually called something along those lines)
- Train a small amount of employees, and once they are trained they can train other employees, etc.

Lecture
- One person training a large group.

You also have to consider whether the training is to be undertaken on site (i.e. in the workplace) or somewhere external.

Are these on the ITA course?

I think training is only mentioned in the Software Development study design -

"the implementation phase of the SDLC, including preparation of user documentation, designing and conducting training programs, preparation of disaster recovery plans and the changeover to new systems"

- so you probably won't get a question on it in ITA. Still good to know, though.

yeah but that was only a trial exam not created by VCAA so I'm pretty sure end of year won't have it

I'd check out the study design, just to be sure it isn't in there

(it sounds familiar though but i did software last year so maybe thats why it sounds familiar)
