Yeah it wasn't too bad. The examiners are friendly and supportive so yeah, better than I thought :). I think there was a lot of new examiners this year, which are all very young, for Second Language anyways. Not sure if thats a good or bad thing, but hope they are niceee to me and givee me an A+! :)))) How did you guys go?

Ooo, I did 中国盆景。The chinese Bonsai. :) I was a little bit worried when the examiner start asking me questions about the pots and not the penjing itself lol. Did they ask u any challenging questions? One of mine was... I said I want to be a lawyer, because a lawyer can ensure that justice prevails...etc One of them quickly turn and ask how can a lawyer uphold justice when it defend a bad guy? LoL, I was like 两方面都压听，不能只是听一边。这还是伸张正义。 I am not sure though... lol

Haha, yeah they asked me quite a few challenging questions about my detailed study and also during general convo; they kept interrupting me as well. E.g. 一名学生学习好就会证明他们是一个好学生吗？And I answered as 肯定不会，一名好学生必须具备三个条件。第一，学习一定要好，blahblahblah,第二，品德，blahblahblah,第三，身体健康，blahblahblah.

Is that even possible? To have a 'perfect' oral? Given that the marking process is so subjective. . .

Theres only 3 criteria, I think its quite doable to get full marks for each if you are a fluent speaker and had prepared really well. Also, you need a good day :)

Oh God! I fell like I might have not done as well now....
Considering My detailed was 中国中学生的生活.
I blanked and couldn't ever answer my age, My nerves got the better of me.
I got there eventually and there was only one question I couldn't understand.
But I'm not too confident considering the standard of the cohort.
Ah well will have to hope for 90+% on exam. :/

Dw mate, the examiners understand that nerves get to most people in the start, and the fact that you managed to pull it off and start ans well is a sign of your capability. Good Luck and don't go so harsh on yourself, you still got the exam to go! :)
P.S It doesn't matter what detail study you do, as long as you like it. Like a wise man once said ^^, it's not about how good the martial art is, its all about the martial artist ! ^^

yes it is humanly possible, you don't even have to have perfectly fluent chinese (you would lol if you heard my chinese oral...i can't use tones properly)...you just have to be able to answer their questions well without it sounding too memorized.

sounds like everyone did pretty well. :)
i had a lady and a man, i walked in and the guy seemed pretty intimidating-didn't smile or anything, the lady was nice she kept smiling.lol
although, after the first few questions they started to loosen up a bit.
did any of your examiners laugh at your answers. I don't know whether they were laughing with me or at me. :-\
hoping for an A+. :)

Well, I did mine at 3.00
So they were all pretty tired. But after 2 questions or so, they start getting into it and smiling because they know that I am one of those try-hard students and my accent wasn't too bad +P
Did u do urs in Kew? The Baptist CHurch? Apparently, one of my friend got a young guy with glasses and he didn't smile once.

Just did it.
they asked me pretty difficult questions, had a guy and a girl examiner.
mm, time to concentrate on written

I think if they ask you challenging questions, thats a good sign. They are essentially giving you the chance to get the 9s -10s. Good Luck!

Did mine yesterday, it was great - examiners give you the basic questions first - who/what/where/when about your personal life, then jump straight into "So, what have you chosen to do for your detailed study?"
I think I answered them quite brilliantly, to be honest. Not being cocky or anything, I am very proud of myself.
