you are not allowed blank pages in the bound reference?
-
Never felt so accomplished after an exaM. wow. yeah and sd=range/4. mine came up as 3?
matrices last question? what was that?

you are, i had like 50 and an invigilator even checked it. he didnt say anythin about it
-
not too confident about a lot of the core stuff...ahwell we'll see.....apparently vcaa publish the multiple choice answers online in the coming hours? can anyone confirm this?

dont think so, just wait till sum1 uploads it here

i thought they only publish assessment reports like at least 5mos after the actual exam?
-
wth? he stood behind me the whole time watching me tear all the blanks from my stapled a4book despite me telling him my pages would all fall out after ripping the back half out.
-
Thought it was okay, was the standard deviation 2? for Q3
-
Thought it was okay, was the standard deviation 2? for Q3
i was throwing up between 2 and 3. eventually i did (range/4)= standard dev. it came up as 3. though im not 100% sure.
-
Well it was a mean of give or take 180, and its about 6 away both sides so I figured 2
-
nop... i got 2 too from trying to make a bellcurve but its 3or 4 i forgot
-
ahh that was a shit paper, pretty sure i only lost one though.
going over it with a friend now.
worst question 9 on trig, i had never done that question before = lack of practice.. so should have done a few more:(
-
Oh why Did I do so many stupid mistakes, but I got the really hard trig and geo one (#9) by picking an answer I havnt seen yet.
Didnt finish early either, just a few minutes before time
-
wat did u get for 9
-
the awkward moment where you get the iqr wrong because you look at the histogram instead of the boxplot
lololololololol
it's cool though, i'm laughing about it.
-
geo & trig q9 is B.
find vol of cone, tthen make vol of cylinder = that and solve for height :)

That was an easy question. I still don't get Core Q3. Looking at the book and o.O. The exam as a whole was pretty easy.
-
Can some1 please, whats the answer for q1 core? some say its D. but i dont see why. :buck2:

Add up the percentage of the two columns (179-180, 180-181).
21+16=37%
300 x .37 = 111, so the answer is D

i got E, if u look at the histogram the last column protrudes from 186 so its a left rectangle. I dunno its really hard to explain but im sticking with E spent like 5 minute on that question lols.
-
ur not meant top use the boxplot ur meant to use the histogram.
hence 21 + 17 =37%
which is 111. which is close to 110
-
Hi I completely freaked out at the end, I spent too much time on a trig question and realised I was running out of time - I froze and had to guess like 14 questions!
What will 31/40 get me.... A,B,C etc
-
it may be a B+
-
or a low A.
-
personally i thought it was very "deceptive" lol . is it still possible to get near 40 with a 30/40 for exam 1 ? im only wanting round 38 for study score
-
it really depends on exam 2.

You will need fairly high for exam 2, around 55/60
-
ok if i got 30/40 on exam one and say 50/60 and b average what study score could i get?
btw exam 1 was an average exam some easy questions and some that were just plain deceitful.lol
-
range divided by 4 gives you 3.5 guys
-
Range is 13.. 13/4 = 3.25.. Closer to 3 so that was my working. Is it wrong ? =[
-
If you guys got the Question booklet for the Further Math Exam 1, can you please scan it and post it here? I have a multiple choice exam for my Year 11 General Maths class coming up and I am still trying to do some Business Math/Trig Questions.
-
For s.d i just did median - minimum (which is 50% on bell curve) and divided that by 3 - equals approx 2.
-
range = 187-173 = 14/4 = 3.5
however i believe the answer is b = 2
-
IT SAYS USING THE 68-95-99.7 RULE.
the range / 4 isnt using that rule, hence it cant be 3
-
jj

yep, yep.
we weren't even taught range/4 = s.d. o_o
-
i thought i did well....then i checked my answers on here
30/40 TERRIBLE
-
Ah never been so depressed in my life, is it just me or was that exam a lot harder than the past VCAA ones?! :( :( :(
I think I got around 31/40 today, I've got A+ on all my SACs and if I do well on Wednesday, can I still get 40+? If so, approximately what number would I need to get on Wednesday to get 40? :(
-
Probably at least 57/60 on exam 2 and you can break the threshold of the top achievers! :D
-

Never felt so accomplished after an exaM. wow. yeah and sd=range/4. mine came up as 3?
matrices last question? what was that?
B
I actually tried all the combinations for it and it worked out.
-
Lol, so this is what i did...
In the last minute I was looking at my Graphs and Relations answers and comparing them with the GEOmetry questions and going WTFWTFWTF.
I then rubbed out and changed 3 answers before i realised what i had done. But unfortuantely the VCAA lady grabbed my sheet at that instant. :(
haha, ill never get over this fact :'( ended up with 36/40...

low A+... now i must get a high A+ for exam 2. :D
Besides the SD question, the rest are silly mistakes that even year 9 should get them right, and they're all from core. fml :uglystupid2:
-
hopefully A+ cut off is 35/40 ;D

i hope so too.

I hate matrices!
