Seeings as every thread has people asking what they'll get for their SS we might as well have a thread for it..
Ask away!

27/40 for multiple choice
over 75% sac scores
what do I need to get on the exam to get a study score of 35 and above
thanks bra
-
A+ sacs, going through at 100%, 39/40 exam 1? if i lose at most 3 marks on exam 2?
-
38/40 - both errors were from Core (Q3's ambiguity grrr, and simple error in calculator for Q11 Reciprocal transformation regression line...)
Do you think for Q3 they will just be harsh and only accept B? If they do, then my mark is 38.
If there is some massive overhaul in the subject and they accept C for it's alternate calculation (range/4) then I may get 39. But either way I'm happy.
With Exam 1 38/40 done, how much do I need in the next exam for a MINIMUM of 45? thanks!

if i got 68/100 what would i get study score non scaled

@lorcon_raven I highly doubt they'll accept C because it specifically says the rule to use
-
33/40 for exam 1

I asked this on a different thread. Didn't see this one.
Is 50 still possible if I get 60/60 on the next exam? I'm pretty sure I lost only one mark (i.e. 39/40) on exam 1. Stupid core questions. *cries*

Haha I didn't even think of range/4 nor did I even know about it :p

i rekon i got something like 34-35/40 in exam one... sacs where ranked 16/40 -- and it was something like 77% ... and then exam 2.....
i hate this!
-
@Rubiks, I agree that, since giving the method, they SHOULD really only accept B - but the question's ambiguity ("standard deviation is closest to") would have meddled with majority of the state, and regardless of the implied rule, like no other question in the exam, it's only the ANSWER they look for not the Method (thus it's not maths methods :P) so there may be some discrepancy there. I don't know... Wishful thinking probably for that extra mark. Nevermind!

Dw man still in year 11, I didn't even think of all this SS crap for Methods. Besides you still have next year to get great study scores and by the looks of ur subjects it is well and truly achievable

Similar to Q1 with 'closest to' and a possible solution of 40 (36 percent w/o converting to numbers). Very tricky questions

55/60 would almost definitely get you 40+
-
This is bit random, but _avO, I just realised that we are doing the same subjects bar english. o.O
-
Haha yea but luckily you did BM last year (damn I could only do one :P)
But there is a big difference because I suck in eco and (sucked in) methods lol
-
I hope you get in to BComm at Monash. Same course I'm applying for, so I might see you there :P
-
reviewed exam 1 mark: 36/40 :'(
Exam 1: 35or36/40
Exam 2: do one for 52+/60 and 57+/60
Sacs: 99/100 Rank 3 - 2 people on 100
What are my chances of getting 45~?? i hope i can still get it
Thanks
-
52/60 will not get you a 45 but 57+ will
-
what do you reckon
top of cohort A+
exam 1: 39/40
exam 2: hopefully 58-60

Does anyone think it was a hard exam like 2008?
Because for example in 2008 28/40 got you a B+ but in 2009 since that was easier it got you a B
-
My opinion, Easy but tricky :)
-
Just need some assurance here.
SAC rank not so good. Avg 87%
Exam 1: 39/40
Exam 2: 58/60

for a 44, you can afford to lose a few marks so 57/60+ would be 44
-
thats very do-able.
soooooooo pumped now.
RAWWR!
-
Got 36/40 on exam 1 and 93% for sacs this year. What would i need to get on exam 2 for 40+ SS??
-
so if this exam was easier, then we should expect a easier but tricky exam 2?
-
Got 36/40 on exam 1 and 93% for sacs this year. What would i need to get on exam 2 for 40+ SS??
It's basically 1 mark per SS above 40, so 54/60+ should be 40+
so if this exam was easier, then we should expect a easier but tricky exam 2?
You would think so coz its written at the same time? Correct me if i'm wrong
-
I got 37/40 (don't ask) but was rank 2 out of 110 people for sacs, what would i be looking at with around 53-56 for exam two??
-
40-43 :) or give or take 1 difference
-
i hope core is easier on exam 2 as that's where i lost all my marks, and i think i can afford for modules 2, 4 and 6 being harder :)
damn thinking of maths is mass distracting me from psychology... research methods is so dry
-
36/40 exam 1.
Hoping 55-57 exam 2.
Top in cohort, what shall I expect?
Hmm, since exam was considered quite hard in comparative to...last years (well...judging from the after bitching), how much effect will it have on gaining a decent SS?
-
ummmmmm I got 36/40 .. A+ with sacs and hopefully around 55/60 for exam 2?

i honestly don't think it was harder than 2009; just quite different.
BUT. in saying that. it depends on modules. for instance business, geom trig and matrices were all very fair. others may have been harder.
your sig says aim of 42 - if you achieve your predictions i think you'll safely get that for sure :)
-
how da hell i s Q1 D?
Isnt it E?
-
35/40 exam 1
sacs: 97/100
what do i need for exam 2 to get 40+
hopefully nothinh abvoe 55+/60
-
if you mean for core, which assumably you do
it's d cause between 179 and 181 was 37% not 50%... so its 300 x .37 = 111... which is closest to 110, so its D
-
how da hell i s Q1 D?

How is it E? I have no idea how you deduced that :/, it's just 37% of 300
-
what would i need to get a 30 study score RAW.....
-
Average marks, about 25/40, 35/60
-
made about 7 marks worth of the most stupidest mistakes ever...
-
with an average of 85% on sacs and 60% on multi choice is it possible to get a 40?
what would i need to get on exam 2 to get above 35?
-
Just wondering..
i got 29/40 for exam 1 (fml)
expecting 45/60 for exam 2
SAC marks are 80/100..
what study score (range) could i get?
And is it totally impossible for me to get a 40?
-
You'd need to get like full marks to get it
-
I did ask Avo but I cannot access my inbox atm :(.
With 34-35 on exam 1 with stupid ambiguous mistakes :(
What is required on exam 2 to get 39? 41?
-
yeah it's pretty unlikely. you could still get high 30s if you perform really well on exam 2
and there's not much difference to your ENTER with a high 30 and a 40 - it just sounds better, essentially :D
-
35/40 on Exam One.
Within top 10 in my cohort (out of 80ish).
Averaged about 85-95 % on the SACs.
What do I need to get on exam two to get a 40? Or more.
Thank you! :D.
-
37/40 exam 1
top of my cohort.
wat do i need in exam 2 to get above 45
-
For SAC's I think I'm on about 92-3/100? Low A+ I think.
For Exam 1 I got 35/40 :(
What am I going to need on exam 2 to get around 40 raw.
Btw, when you guys are predicting SS results in this thread, are you talking raw, or scaled?

thanks alot. so if i get 57 in exam 2 im lookin at 45. ur a gun. hopefully i get 60 and may end up getting 48. thanks now im really in the mood to study. CONFIDENCE IS NOW UP!!!!!thanks

57+/60, however it does depend on your SAC rank and overall cohort performance.

Yeah well my cohort haven't been achieving that well. However I am ranked around 5th I'm sure out of 60-80.
-
SACs B+ A+ A+ A+ (Does it get down to A?)

if you get a 50/60, you'd probably be seeing about 37-38, otherwise for a 45 you will need 58+/60
36/40 for exam 1 and 91% for sacs
what do I need for exam 2 to get a 40?
54/60+ for a 40+

Further wont be the best for me.

about 47 or 48 out of 60 would be a pretty good estimation

If I got about 30/40, and if I get say 45/60, and average sacs (havn't failed one), am I in the running to get over 30?

easily. i reckon 32/33-ish

it feels like 1 mark wrong = 1 study score isnt it.
GOODLUCK EVERYONE FOR EXAM 2!
-
Are SACs are a big factor (I know they are 33%) but since most of these scores are being judged without them, do the exams just show where the student should be and say a B+ in both will bring up a students B SAC marks up being ranked in the top 15%? (just a hypothetical situation)
-
85-90% SAC, 100% exam 1 (wooooooooot), what do i need exam 2 for 42+?
-
Sacs 95+/100 not really sure
Exam 1: 35-36/40
What do i need on exam 2 for a 43?
-
about 57/60
-
about 57/60
That nearly impossible for me...
-
Questio
38/40 - both errors were from Core (Q3's ambiguity grrr, and simple error in calculator for Q11 Reciprocal transformation regression line...)
Do you think for Q3 they will just be harsh and only accept B? If they do, then my mark is 38.
If there is some massive overhaul in the subject and they accept C for it's alternate calculation (range/4) then I may get 39. But either way I'm happy.
With Exam 1 38/40 done, how much do I need in the next exam for a MINIMUM of 45? thanks!
I'd say question 3 of the core would not have any exceptions, because it's not an ambiguous question in the first place.
It says what rule to use
and the graph shows, pretty much a standard bell shaped curve
so we know that 180 is the mean, and that on the left and right there are 3 marked points, so the standard deviation is clear haha
-
if i got a plus for all sacs, and then messed up today and got 35/40 and hoping for high 50s for paper 2... what study score am i looking at?
-
if i got a plus for all sacs, and then messed up today and got 35/40 and hoping for high 50s for paper 2... what study score am i looking at?
High 50's i'm assuming 57/60+, your SS will be roughly 42-46, 46 being if you ace it
-
yeah definately hoping for 57 +... im ranked 5th in my school, so fingers crossed. shatterd about today- ran out of time.
-
what would i need on exam two to get 45 if:
37/40 for exam one
90/100 for sacs in a very strong cohort

Hey guys, your probably sick of answering these but I was wondering what I would need on exam 2 for a ss of 33 (was 35 originally, i think that's now gone!) with:
-26/40 :-\ Easy mistakes galore
and
-84% SAC average in a very, very weak cohort.
Cheers.

75% on the sacs
33/40 on Exam 1

mid 30s? around 36ish perhaps. depending on if your 75% on SACs is within a strong or weak cohort.

33/40 Exam 1
is it possible to get a study score of 40?
-
about how many marks dropped = 42?
i get that the high 40's is basically a study score a mark, yet how far down does that apply for?
ie. would a 42 really mean 8 marks dropped?

26/40 is usually about a C+, so you'd probably want a B+ or so in exam 2, which is around 43/60, give or take. maybe a bit higher depending on how very very very weak your cohort is :-)

38/40 exam 1 and 95/100

60/60 no doubt
-
Hey guys, your probably sick of answering these but I was wondering what I would need on exam 2 for a ss of 33 (was 35 originally, i think that's now gone!) with:
-26/40 :-\ Easy mistakes galore
and
-84% SAC average in a very, very weak cohort.
Cheers.
26/40 is usually about a C+, so you'd probably want a B+ or so in exam 2, which is around 43/60, give or take. maybe a bit higher depending on how very very very weak your cohort is :-)
Thank you very much :) And believe me, its a terrible cohort haha
-

Considering that further is such a competitive subject, 1 mark will drop you a Study Score... thus, i would think that you will need full marks to get a 50. However being in a strong cohort, losing one mark may get you that 50. Good luck mate.
-
what would i need on exam two to get 45 if:
37/40 for exam one
90/100 for sacs in a very strong cohort
thanks
-
is a 49/50 still possible?
i got a 38 or 39 depending on question 5 module 4
and average 98.3% on my sacs and topping my school although it's a very shit school

On about 84% SACS, got 36/40 for Exam 1, what would I need roughly in Exam 2 to get 40+?
-
I got a 75% on this exam, I've been ranked 1st in my class for all my sacs.. approximately how much do I need on this second exam to get a study score of over 40?
-
SAC Ranking about top 10 87%
Exam 1 37/40
What would i need to get in Exam 2 for at least a 43-46 SS?
-
i got roughly 25-30 on the exam but about 90% for my sacs? what study score would i get if i do well on exam 2 or what would i need to get above 35?
-
while we're on the subject, can someone please clear up a little something. i heard it doesnt matter if you average 80% on sacs or 99% on sacs, but as long as you get the top sac ranking in your cohort, you received the top exam mark in your cohort as your sac marks... is this true?
-
yea pretty much, i dont have time to get into it but listen to this;
SAC PERCENTAGES DONT MATTTTEEEEERRRR.... ITS ALL ABOUT THE RANKING
vcaa doesnt care about percentages as teachers mark different, thus the ranking is what counts.
so yea if you are ranked 1 in your cohort then you would 95% of time get the top mark :)
thats the benefit of being ranked 1.
-
what SS would I be looking at
2nd in cohort
39/40 exam 1
probs 55ish exam 2?
-
37/40 exam 1
54/60 exam 2
What am I looking at with that?
-
hows about a 90% ave on sacs and a 34/40 paper one.. what do i need on paper 2 to get 41-43?
-
Hey guys, wondering if I could get an estimate:
My sacs have been average - 88%ish, maybe top 25% in a strong cohort. (People have been saying rank is important - how much will my rank affect me?)
39/40 Exam One, and looking around 57-59/60 for Exam Two.
Thanks, much appreciated :)

-
ranked in top 5 with 95-96% on sacs got 38/40 and want around 57-60/60 what would be an approx study score?
-
^ everyone, most of you are asking for the same prediction.
realise this:
your estimate is going to generally be 1 mark per study score point
so you jezza with your 38/40 and 57/60 is about 45, and with each of those exam 2 marks getting closer to full, you are looking at 48 (if 60/60)
-
Hey 93% SAC average and 38 or 39 out of 40 on the multiple choice exam what would i be looking at Score wise?
-
Hey 93% SAC average and 38 or 39 out of 40 on the multiple choice exam what would i be looking at Score wise?
If you want 40+, you need around 52/60+
For 45+, you need 56/60+
-
Does Exam 1 count? Like what I mean is do they combine both exam 1 and exam 2 to get your score?
-
Yes, including your moderated SACs as well. SACs, exam 1 and exam 2 count for 34%, 33% and 33% respectively
-
^
I thought it was 34% 22% 44%?
-
That's for methods and spesh (1 hr and 2 hr), but since both exams go for 1hr 30 they are moderated the same
-
_avO is correct
-
That's for methods and spesh (1 hr and 2 hr), but since both exams go for 1hr 30 they are moderated the same
Oh so methods exam one is only worth 22%? :/
Oh fkkk. i'm screwed for methods :( it's like d-day on friday and monday.
-
hello. i'm quite curious as to what i should expect to get for my SS.
my sac mark is 97/100
and i think i got one question wrong in exam 1.
though im not expecting to do as well in exam 2.
what do you think i could get?
thanks.
-
Yes, including your moderated SACs as well. SACs, exam 1 and exam 2 count for 34%, 33% and 33% respectively
are you serious? so lets say you drop 2 marks in exam1, and 2 marks in exam2, that would give an exam 1 score of 95%, and an exam two score of 96.67%
so basically what your saying, is your final mark will be 95.83% ((95+96.67)/2) rather then 96% ((38+58)/100)????
lol i know its as minimal as shit for high achievers, but for people with varying marks, it could have an impact.
-
it will be 38/40 x 33 + 58/60 x 33
-
Oh shit I just realised losing a mark in exam 1 is worse then losing a mark in exam 2 :( damn.
-
y is that??
-
Each mark for exam 1 is worth 0.83 out of the possible 33 (after moderation) and each mark for exam 2 is worth 0.56 out of the possible 33 !! :o
-
Each mark for exam 1 is worth 0.83 out of the possible 33 (after moderation) and each mark for exam 2 is worth 0.56 out of the possible 33 !! :o
that just depresses me more
-
So according to what you're saying _avo, with A+ sacs, high A/low A+ exam1 and full marks exam 2 you could still get 40+ because of the calculation. So you don't need A+ for all 3 to get 40+?
-
Dammmit. And i was so happy that i only lost one mark. Argh, time to get on the prac exam papers!
-
Well it only really matters if you're fighting for the top 2% (45+) basically, as maybe a 40/40 and 59/60 is better than a 39/40 and 60/60 (I'm not 100% guaranteeing this, but it's what I think) and you might just miss out on a 50 (still just my opinion)
So according to what you're saying _avo, with A+ sacs, high A/low A+ exam1 and full marks exam 2 you could still get 40+ because of the calculation. So you don't need A+ for all 3 to get 40+?
Not necessarily the calculation (imo this really just applies for 45+), but if you want 40+ you will need good SAC marks, and overall no more than 10-11 marks lost together in both exams
-
You don't need all A+s to get 40. I know someone who got an A on exam 1 last year and got 41, must have been highest possible A.
Btw avO if you only lost one mark shouldn't you change you further goal to 45+ :)
-
I will change if after tomorrow xD. Can't guarantee anything (I think I just got lucky yesterday)
-
lol i wish i got lucky...

Yeah my brother got 41 with A A+ A+

Haha, you never know maybe tomorrow will be your lucky day
-
If I dropped four (all stupid/not reading) marks on Exam 1, have an =4th/101 ranking at a school that gets pushed up and a 100% score, what does that equate to?
-
46+
-
if i got a 25/40 and not such good sac marks, what would that give me exactly? over 30?
-
if i got a 25/40 and not such good sac marks, what would that give me exactly? over 30?
What do you predict you'll get for exam 2?
-
would wat u said affect my mark lets say 37/40 exam 1/ exam two i get none wrong and SACS high A+. wat SS would i be lookin at.
-
47+, hmm it may if there were only a certain number to be awarded 47's and most of them lost marks in exam 2 and not exam 1 (however the same amount of marks were lost) and they had to toss up between you and someone who lose 2 marks in exam 2 and 1 in exam 1
-
hey i was wondering what study score i could get with an average of :
B+ in sac's
exam 1 : 19/40
exam 2: i get half correct ?
Thanks, lol i know its really bad but furthers my 10% so i dont mind :)
-
k so for exam 1 i got 25/40 with low sac marks, for exam two say i get 35/60. what would that approx get me? over 30?
-
Both those scores are relatively average, which may correlate to 30
If you want over 30, then maybe aim for 40-50 out of 60 which will be roughly 30-35
-
WOW 30 !! im happy noww ! ahha i thought it'd be low 20's or something, thankyou !

I was referring to rosy, but for you if you want a 30, maybe aim just a little higher in exam 2 (maybe 60%) and its achievable
-
A/A+ in sacs (94%, ranked maybe 5th)
33/40 : exam 1
Within the top 10, most of them got around 37/40 minimum. I think I did the worse.
What do I need in exam 2 to get 40+?
-
^ 58-59/60
-
jesus D: that's...o.O
-
can i afford to lose in mark in exam 2 and get a 50?
40/40 for exam 1
100% for sacs

36/40 for Exam 1
What exam 2 mark fo i need to get 42 and 44?

can i afford to lose in mark in exam 2 and get a 50?

Depends on the difficulty of the exam, but I would say it is a likelihood

36/40 for Exam 1
What exam 2 mark fo i need to get 42 and 44?
For a 42, you will need around 56/60+, and for 44 58/60+
-
I screwed up BIG TIME on the exam, 31/40, when I was able to get a minimum of 38 on all prac exams.
The worst part is that the ones I got wrong were the most basic questions.
So I'm ranked first in my school, what do I need to still get a 40? If that is still even possible :(
-

Is this 1 mark per SS really accurate? o.o
-
It decreases exponentially so you can afford to lose more (proportion of) marks for a lower SS, and yeah it's basically 1 mark per SS after 40
-
Approximate got 35/40 :( ... Ranked top 15 in sacs out of 75 students.. Any hope for 40+? What do I need for exam 2....

Estimating for every single person is pointless. Because further is so competitive, take every mark you lost and minus one study score up until around 42-43. After that its sort of a log scale.
