hey everyone
how do YOU study/do homework after school.....
Do you procastonate till 10 and then start HW
OR
Do you start hw straight away
OR
Do you have a strict homework timetable
OR
do you finish hw early so you can study
My study timetable generally goes like this
homework at school till 5
get home and procastonate till 8 (neighbours/bigbrother/computer!!)
study till about 10
read
then sleep
AND this is my study timetable (Homework prioritises over this, and it only comes into play when i dont get HW)
4 - 5 REVS NOTES
5 - 6 ENGLISH LANGAUGE REVIEWS / TEXT ANALYSIS
6 - 7 Economics Glossary
7 - 9 PROCASTONATE / DINNER
10 - Sleep = Reading / Working on Chem and Methods
BusMan is too easy to try for :P
and english 1/2 is also easy :P
7 subjects is fucking intense!!! but im looking forward to a 3 subject year 12!!!

I usually get a bit of work done early, then I fall into procrastinating and don't do the rest until about 10pm.
Also... you do FOUR 3/4s in year 11? Wow man.... that is absolutely crazy...nice stuff

I was shocked by that too. I only did one! i feel so disadvataged now :(
But anyway, i have a study timetable. Homework is mainly done at school during recess/lunch. I dont really have a LOT of hw, as most of my study time is actually STUDY. I study after school, 4-5.30, dinner, tv etc.
7.00-9.00: usually study, revising for Psych mid years
Before bed revise definitions and read English text.
Morning before school i will read English text (like over breakky)
Saturdays are (supposed to be) my days off. Yet i end up doing study for about 3-4 hours on that day anyway.

I do option A: procrastinate. However I do have a study timetable which I've stuck to once. The reason I haven't found my study timetable to be effective is because for SACs, I study like crazy, taking time away from all other subjects. Plus, I like to go to bed at a reasonable hour, and I try to fit a bit of reading (mainly books about language) in every night.
I'm interested in your study timetable. Under English Language, you mention "text analysis" - you do this every night? Are there any specific texts you analyse? And is it just the sort of analysis Outcome One requires?
A three-subject Year 12 sure sounds fun! I'd definitely have taken up the chance to do multiple enhancements (probably two) in Year 11 if my school allowed...
-
the amount of study per subject i do fluctuates in accordance with how many assessments i have.
i have about 10 free periods a week (four subjects, yr 12) and try to use them all with work/study.
-
God I'm shit at studying.
My mum needs to yell it me all the time gah.
7 subjects in year 11 is insane. I'd strongly discourage anyone from doing that. You'll neglect your 1/2s to do your 3/4s, or the other way around and such.
I'd rather do 4 subjects in year 12...
lol you're brave!

Study? STUDY?
I don't study. I just do the homework.

im sorta treating it as a 3 year vce, with lots of extra chances
i didnt see the point in doing all these 1/2s that u didnt even need to do for the 3/4 (EG - revs, eco, eng lang, busman, legal and so many others)
so i decided to do subjects which went towards my enter instead

Do you procastonate till 10 and then start HW <-- that would be me

Study? STUDY?
I don't study. I just do the homework.
Same here. I just did the work that needed to be done.

what about for SACs?

what about for SACs?
I usually just study for them the night before.

Mmmm. Same.

I do homework mainly at school during my study periods and then I complete the unfinished homework at home.. Once everything has been completed I normally study and revise the next key topics in the subject.

wow.. I personally would never just study the night before a SAC.. but I guess everyone has their own 'system'.

yeh i second that jsimmo i could not handle the last minute rush. I like to to start studying within a week of the SAC so there is not as much pressure. This is all except for english which i usually only study the night before because i feel its a subject based on talent more than hardwork IMO
-
Yeah i agree with 'Jsimmo.'
Homework is done in study periods, then home time is for studying.
Its amazing how your brain just goes into auto pilot. Well for me i get home and have a break untill about 4:30, then do homework until 9. thats every night but it includes dinner, shower, random cooking shows on sbs :P
I find that all my friends have a lot of homework that they do at home, but i am usually studying psych or history and doing my PDP for media. i always read ahead for history and psych and constantly do summery notes/practice exam questions.
We haven't got that long left, so everybody start getting excited for schoolies/2009 aspirations!
it gets me through the year atleast! haha

just a quick question.
Did most people (exluding freaks) who got 90+ ENTER study after school? Or did you just do the homework set and only study for sacs in the next week?
-
thanks for the help...................

I personally was a lazy idiot - only did my homework sometimes and didn't do any study at all unless I had to, but that was only because I found that cramming worked best for me (although that backfired on me when it came to exam time and I realised I couldn't cram a year's worth of stuff into a week), and also because I was more interested in my music. And I got 90+ ..
It varies with each person, just find out what works for you
