I am getting very confused between social responsibility and just general expectations of the organisation
My teacher describes social responsibility as the thing an organisation does for the community and stakeholders BEYOND the law
For example would correct payment of employees be conisdered as being socially responsible? Or it's not social responsibility because it is in fact
illegal not to pay employees..
More examples i am unsure about include...wether a safe organisation for employees/customers is social responsibility....or a just a law as the organisation must follow OH&S
Another example is providing quality products to customers?? Is that being socially responsible or just a general expectation that would influence the success of the organisation?
Please help ;)

Social responsibility is when organisations go above their legal obligations to display a commitment to the economy, community and environment.
Payment of employees, OH&S =/= CSRM
Socially responsible behaviour could be providing paid charity leave for employees, recycling all waste in an organisation to minimise impact etc.

I think the correct treatment of others etc eg payment of employees would come under the umbrella of business ethics, as opposed to social responsibility which is showing a commitment to the community beyond that imposed by law, like Burbery says, recycling waste, establishing a charity etc.

Business ethics is what is morally right or wrong, so I guess you could put it in. But its really a legal obligation and not under these headings.
Ethics could be not using a sweatshop as labour, where they are underpaid so i GUESS you could do it.

Yeh I hate Ethics Q's, because there is a fine line between the law/ethics/social responsibility
I guess you just have to think about it logically nad hope to god it's right haha

No way!! Love ethics and social responsibility... There is difference between them.. u just gotta know ur stuff...
