Hii all ~
I'm currently taking Classical Societies and Cultures which doesn't seem to be offered at very many schools...
I haven't been able to find any studynotes or guides online and was wondering if anyone does this subject?
Or if anyone has done this subject if they have any advice would be really appreciated :)
Thanks

It's not really a popular subject and I haven't heard or seen any members who do this subject. There might be some lurkers on the forum who do it though.
I wish my school offered Classics. *sigh*

only 386 people do it in the state

This thread is 2 years old...
The subforums for the history subjects are (sadly) quite dead. Revs and Aus. don't count because I didn't do them :P

yeah.. can't believe I started the thread 2 years ago =//
it's a shame Classics wasn't a subject that was well-known which made it quite hard to study for.
@Russ, did you do Classics this year? if so, what did you think of it?

I did it in 2008 and was a bit disappointed it didn't have a more historical focus. It was pretty much Lit. but based on ancient texts...didn't mind that much, but still...great subject

the new texts for it are herodotus and thucydides.

I did this subject as my 3/4 in year 11. I wasn't happy at all with my mark at the time. I pretty much screwed up the text analysis tasks in the exam but literally got full marks on the main essay but C+s on the text analysis - I was really bad at writing a lot in 30 mins per essay and didn't discuss historical continuations criterion extensively enough.
However, as someone pointed out this subject was pretty much like lit. It helped my writing skills immensely and I think solely led to my 50 in english and excellent Lit mark.
