Post by: vidang on November 05, 2010, 06:20:18 pm
q5b- would i get 1 mark
for using z-score formula

z = 7-5/3
= 2/3 or no?

and q9b-
would i get 1 mark for
setting up and integral
limits between 1 to 3 f'(x) dx?

q5b id hope so because there isnt anything else you can do unless they wanted you to draw the graph
q9b i think if you had this: you'd get a mark

but you can never tell

Hey Vi! Fancy seeing you here! :)
For 5b, you'll definitely get at least 1 mark for Z>2/3...I thought you changed it to Z<-2/3 ? (if you did and said that b=-2/3, you'd get full marks :))
For 9b, I'm not quite sure...they might give you the mark, as VCAA examiners have been told to 'look' for marks - it might just cut it! :)
