Anyone Considering Redoing/Has Redone Methods?
-
I will if i get <40 and if my school allows...

I thought about doing that, but in the long run, I don't see the point.. if I do well enough on my other subjects, Methods may well not even be in my 6 subjects counted..
-
I thought about doing it because of my result. But it's just stupid, I decided that it was much better to take a different subject and actually learn as opposed to chasing a higher score in something I'd already done.. So I picked up Lit. Very good decision I think. Sure I may have been able to get a higher Methods score and get it into my top four if I had repeated.. But in the end that matters quite little.
You need to decide for yourself though. Perhaps you'll see significant benefit in repeating. Maybe it'll help you get into your course, or get a scholarship or whatever..
-
Honestly, i think you would be better off picking another subject.
Its not the end of the world if you stuff methods up.
EDIT: Yeah m@tty has summed it up well.

hmm my methosd teacher told me to repeat methosd if i screed it up last yeatr
-
So why didn't you repeat? :P

So why didn't you repeat? :P
Because only me and parents thought i screwed up lol, no-one else

Your parents! Far out did they expect a 50?

But you could've got an extra 0.8 on your aggregate, assuming you don't get higher scaled scores in all of Chem, Phys and Spec.. Wait. Considering that you could've increased your aggregate by 0.08. Nah, not worth it.
You totally could've repeated and smashed this years ;D

yea lol, they have a harsher view on my scores and epformance than i do 0.o

I'd kill just to get a 40 in any of my subjects :buck2:

Parents must have been like what happened to the other 2 marks?

Yeah but I guess you kind of have Chinese to fall back on and judging from your estimations you sound like you're gonna do well in it as well :)
Stupid school didn't let me do both Chinese and methods.
-
never again am i looking at anything to do with methods.....
EVER

look i know heaps of ppl who did its not worth it unless you get less than 30 so just take this as a lessona dn work harder on your other subjects

Well, that's what I'm aiming for, just have to do really well on the written exam next week :)
What, why? That's really stupid :P What school do you go to? :)

Haha goodluck for the exam.
I got to Glen Waverley and they have pretty tough rules about this sort of stuff and only allow 1 3/4 subject in year 11 etc.

Thanks :)
Ooh okay. That's normal for most schools.. At my school you're only allowed one 3/4 in Year 11, but the only exception to that is if you're doing Methods, in which case you can do two 3/4s. :)
I'm just. Weird >.<

So why didn't you repeat? :P
Because Kyzoo got 48!

Yup I know a girl who got 39 last year and she is redoing it this year, apparently she found the exam really good (we'll see on results day how much her score improved :D). Sometimes it's because one's mathematical maturity is not at a certain level in year 11, so when you hit year 12 you might gain deeper mathematical understanding.

Yup. I also reckon that I panicked a lot i the exams since they were quite different to the usual exams this year.
-
I honestly think I would die of boredom if I had to sit through another year of Methods. My brain would simply shut down.
"Intronaut, can you give me the derivative of this, please?"
"Huh? Wha... oh, well it's x^2 oveeeraaskasdjksahskgjsdfgjsfdlgkdfglfdkgmmmmmmbop."

Couldn't agree more. If anything you will come out of Year 12 more experienced.

your teacher calls you intronaut? :p

I did Methods last year for a 38, reckon I could've done better and I did.
Best decision ever, people have guesstimated a 43-44+ this time around :D :D
EDIT: For those saying its a waste of time; I did my specialist work all the way through and just started doing exams REAL early. Like 2-3 months before the school finished the course and it really helped me.

+ a million; speaking for personal experience.
