Title: A+ Cut off?
Post by: Xavier1234 on November 10, 2010, 02:18:20 pm
im thinking myself 82-83/90 since the exam wasn't hard but had a few tricks up its sleeve.
what do you guys think the cut-off would be?

I think it will be around that too. It was a straightforward exam, though again a silly error has prevented me from potentially getting full marks...

im saying 82

81/90

BTW what do you think will be the B+ cutoff? (Im hoping for a B+)

I actually think theres a lot of explain q's which ppl are gonna lose marks in plus all the various tricks :tickedoff:. Definelty harder than 09 and 08. but wasnt too hard.

65. somewhere along those lines. im thinking maybe A+ = 82-83, A= 74, B+ = 65+

I'm saying 80-81, if not less. because it was 82 last year, and last year was easier and this exam had a couple of subtle but nifty tricks.

i completely agree. but yeah im being fully harsh on myself for comitting silly errors.

I thought it was pretty easy to be honest. The only tricky question was the last x-ray question. In saying that, I thought it was harder than last years. So the cutoff will probably be 1 or 2 marks less than 09 I'd say

If lasts years was like 82/90, this years will be lower, don't worry.
and i'm kicking myself over stupid mistakes too...

Yep definitely. This exam was harder than last years and about on par with 08. I'd say the A+ cutoff will be 80-81.

Last years cutoff was 85.5/90 and 2008's was 81, so I think just about if not below 08.. 80-81/90.

and 0.o wat tricks?

Yep definitely. This exam was harder than the last two. I'd say the A+ cutoff will be 79-80.

Last years cutoff was 85.5/90 and 2008's was 81, so I think just below 08.. 79-80/90.

last years was 85.5? omg i thought i aced it with my 85/90! lol what a dumbass i am

No point gessing cutoffs too much guys. Remember that majority of people on this forum are looking at 40+, and if i remember right, after the midyear, everyone was predicting a cutoff in low-mid 80's; and it ended up being like 78 or something.

Title: Re: A+ Cut off?
Post by: axilon on November 10, 2010, 02:53:11 pm
the cut off for A+ midyears was 162/180 so 81/90.

He has a right to do anything...

Does it fit social (forum) etiquette? No, not really.

I'd say that'd be 42-44 with strong SACs. Your exam scores are a mid-high A+ and about a low A+.

any estimates on the A cut-off?

If the A+ cutoff is ~84, then A cutoff would probably be ~76

how much scaling does it do??
Title: Re: A+ Cut off?

What do you mean? Scaling from 32-34 is ~3. So 35-37 scaled.

i got a B+ for mid year, averaging about low A+/high A for sacs and most likely low A+ for this exam. Is it possible for me to get 37 or 38?

What would a very high A (exam 1) and a very high A or very low A+ (exam 2) get me with an A+ on SACS?
Title: Re: A+ Cut off?
Post by: rubiks on November 10, 2010, 07:06:33 pm
IMO the x-ray question is enough to make the cut off lower than 09. I think a lot of people would have got that wrong. There were a lot of explain questions and it would have been pretty easy to drop marks on the flux=0 and force=0 questions. It kind of annoyed me though that for the force question it asked you to explain your answer. That made it pretty obvious that it was 0 and you had to explain why.

Yeah, I forgot about that. Hate that. If they made it a little less obvious maybe the cut-off would be lower lol
